Merci! :)

Is that transcription and traduction together? Maybe it's better to have it separately, I'm trying to figure out what means what, love the sight of the Thai alphabet (is it an alphabet or symbols like Chinese Kanji?)

I didn't quite understand your comment, google translate gave me this:
French overseas trailers embryos revealed a prayer at the end of every prayer is prayer. The bow out Puttha image Dhammanupassanastipatthana and Sangkharam force a favorable overseas in May. Bring happiness happy forever.

Hahahaha...
Could you translate your comment to French or English?
;)

Bonjour Maluca,

Thank you for your interest in my culture... :)

Sorry, I haven't finished yet ! I must also add footnotes and comments in French (or English, if my teammate Grampa Wild Willy wants to help me...)

To answer your question, the first line is the transcription in Thai of the prayer in Pali language (it is the language of many of the earliest existant Buddhist scriptures) and the second line is its translation in Thai!

...And no, Thai writing is more closer to the Hindi language than to the Chinese. We use characters and not symbols, which are quite different from Chinese Kanji or Japanese hiragana and katakana.

:D ! Google translate makes me often laugh with its funny translations but is sometimes useful anyway!

In my comment is written : "Pha Wa Tu Sap" is a short prayer which ends other big sessions of prayers. It calls upon the benevolence of the three pillars of the Buddhist religion so that they support us in our quest of peace, serenity, security and prosperity at every opportunity... ;)

Thank you for the precision you bring to the matter...I'll add them to my comments below...

À bientôt, :)

I agree with maluca in that it would be better if you'd give the transliteration an entry of its own. That way it could be seen side by side with all translations getting added to this song.

Hallo Sciera,

The transcription lines can not be separated from their translations, they represent the prayer itself...

Theravada Buddhism prayers are (almost) always in Pali that few people (except for members of the religious order) studied. In our text, it is written in Thai as it is the transcription for Thaï people can read and recite. Adding the translation is a recent optional practice.

I have seen that we have Sankrit hier on our site, what about Pali ? ;)

Bis bald... :)

Ah, so the text is partly Thai, partly Pali and you only translated the Thai part. I see.

If there are more texts in Pali here, or if someone adds more, we can surely add it to the list of languages.
