Lass ab

Der Tag ist in die Nacht verliebt
Der Frühling liebt den Winter
Helles Licht auch Schatten gibt
Und du liebst mich

Das Leben in den Tod verliebt
Die Sonne in den Mond
Die schönste Rose bald verblüht
Und du liebst mich

Lass ab von mir
Fühle nur den Sonnenstrahl
Lass ab von mir

Die Liebe in den Hass verliebt
Die Stille in das Laut
Der hellste Stern doch verglüht
Und du liebst mich

Die Hoffnung in das Leid verliebt
Die Selle in den Schmerz
Und große Sehnsucht doch versiegt
Und du liebst mich

Lass ab von mir
Fühle nur den Sonnenstrahl
Lass ab von mir

Zwei Blicke, eine Wahl
Zwei Herzen, eine Qual
Zügle meine Lendenkraft
Steig ab vom Ross, das Leiden schafft

Lass ab von mir
Fühle nur den Sonnenstrahl
Lass ab von mir

Zwei Ziele, eine Qual

Lass ab von mir
Fühle nur den Sonnenstrahl
Lass ab von mir

Lass ab von mir
Lass ab
Von mir

Give Up On Me

The day is in love with the night,
The spring loves the winter
Bright light also creates shadows,
And you love me

Life is in love with death,
The sun with the moon
The prettiest rose will soon wither,
And you love me

Give up on me,
Only feel the rays of the sun
Give up on me

Love is in love with hate,
Silence with noise
Even the brightest star dies out,
And you love me

Hope is in love with suffering,
The moment with pain
And even great longing runs out,
And you love me

Give up on me,
Only feel the rays of the sun
Give up on me

Two looks, one choice
Two hearts, one agony
I reign in my fertility,
Unmount the steed which creates pain

Give up on me,
Inly feel the rays of the sun
Give up on me

Two goals, one agony

Give up on me,
Only feel the rays of the sun
Give up on me

Give up on me
Give up
On me

One small correction: I think the word you want in the translation is "reign," not "rein."

Aside from that... holy tits. It's very Rammstein in the phrasing. Fitting, if I'm right about Reißenweber and Stahlzeit. Maybe it's not the Germans as a whole who have this marvelous musical pedigree; it's just bands born of the Rammloins.

That's a bit ignorant, though. Besides, Eisbrecher is excellent. But I digress. Thanks for the translation, friend! :D

Actually I did mean to use 'rein in', as in he's controling himself/his fertility and used that verb bexause it seemed fitting with the steed thing...although if it doesn't work in English as it does in French I may change it?

And no problem, I find those kind of lyrics quite interesting to translate :D

No, actually, given the apparent steed/mount thing, "reign" as in "reign in your temper" seems like the exact word to use. Only issue is that there's a G in there for some reason... English is weird. Anyway, as far as making changes, please, do what you will. I have little doubt that you understand more German than I do, and besides, you did the translation.

I must agree. There's little more fascinating than the morbid and obscene. Something to churn your gut and tighten the testes, I suppose. And the Germans have just such a knack with verbal fuckery. It's delightful. Like a Stephen King book, but without 700+ pages and probably more rape.

On an unrelated note, I notice you did a French translation of Kopfschuss. Sag mir, are you responsible for all the French Maerzfeld translations here? 'Cause it's a bit glorious.

'Reign in' it is then. I tend to get confused when the English and French are so similar...

Yeah, I did all the French Maerzfeld ones, although I seem to have stopped halfway through them for some reason. I'll have to get back to that.

Eh, it happens. A lot of French words look remarkably similar to their English counterparts, dedpite being pronounced so... bizarrely. French is odd. But take a bit to try pronouncing French words like they're German. You'll lose your mind after a bit. XD

Do as you wish. One of the fun parts of this site is finding songs you like translated into your native language. Or Dothraki. I still don't understand why Dothraki's neccesary, actually, but to hell with it.
