Abraham's Daughter
Abraham took Isaac's hand
And led him to the lonesome hill
While his daughter hid and watched, she dare not breathe.
She was so still.
Just as an angel cried for the slaughter,
Abraham's daughter raised her voice.
Then the angel asked her what her name was,
She said, "I have none."
Then he asked, "How can this be?"
"My father never gave me one."
And when he saw her, raised for the slaughter,
Abraham's daughter raised her bow.
How darest you child defy your Father?
You better let young Isaac go.
La figlia di Abramo
Abramo prese la mano di Isacco
E lo guidò sul colle solitario
intanto sua figlia si nascondeva e guardava, non osava fiatare.
Stava così immobile.
Solo quando un angelo iniziò a gridare al massacro, la figlia di Abramo fece sentire la sua voce.
Allora l'angelo le chiese quale fosse il suo nome,
lei rispose, "Non ce l'ho."
Poi lui chiese "Come è possibile?"
"Mio padre non me ne ha mai dato uno."
E quando lui la vide, iniziò il massacro, e la figlia di Abramo alzò il suo arco.
"Come osi tu, bambina, sfidare tuo padre?"
"Faresti meglio a lasciare andare il piccolo Isacco".
