In het eerste couplet heb je 'ver' met 'remote' vertaald. Ik denk dat met 'ver' hier 'uitgestrekt' wordt bedoeld; 'remote' is 'ver verwijderd'

I do not think "lonely" would be correct here. In the original, "eenzaam" is used to describe the manner in which the shepherd wanders, not the shepherd himself. However, "lonelily" does sound rather strange; the more common way to phrase it would be "A shepherd wanders alone."
