I've been noticing many mistakes in the original lyrics of the songs:

1. Sometimes it's a poor transliteration, not the proper alphabet of the language. (ex. many of the songs in Macedonian are written in the Latin alphabet, not the Macedonian Cyrillic alphabet);
2. Often, the language is mistaken. (For example, Russian is mistaken for Ukrainian, Macedonian for Serbian etc.)
3. Orthographical mistakes (maybe because the lack of knowledge), all letters capital, uneven verses...

So, I'd like to suggest, that if it's possible, we have more moderators. One moderator for every
language (I know it's impossible to have a mod for every single language, but at least for the most used languages on LT). And that language should be the chosen moderator's native language, and he must have good knowledge of the orthography of the same language. The moderator should be active for a certain time, here on LT, have a certain amount of translations and average translation rating. (ex. 3 months, 100 translations, rating 4.80). Once the moderators are chosen, they would be obliged to monitor their native languages, all the new songs in their native language and the translations in their native language. Thus, many of the above mentioned mistakes would be avoided.

That'd be all. Teeth smile

We already considered something like that. Atm we are starting to give a few users the authority to edit artists or songs, without giving them the full abilities of a mod. (weren't you one of the users who were given that authority?)

About one mod per language, someone has suggested that before you but there are languages that we know no user who could take care of. Perhaps we should first look how many mods we now have per language.
The requirements for becoming a mod are already similiar to what you mentioned (I think it's 6 months, and I think the rating doesn't matter, dunno).

I also see the problem, I normally only take care of German songs/translations and some English and Latin stuff because I know that I don't have the knowledge of other languages to correct something there.

No, as far as I know, I wasn't given that authority, though I'd love to have it. Regular smile
I am a kind of a grammar Nazi, and I've posted the correct original lyrics in the comments of the Macedonian songs, but sometimes the mods cannot see all the comments, and then I'd need to send a report and the work just prolongs, and sometimes there isn't even a result.

For the beginning, the should be about 10-15 "editors", just for the most popular languages used here. I don't know exactly how they will be chosen, but we all pretty much know who are the... proper and capable members.

By the way, about your first post:
1. And with it you write your name in Latin script? :O

And in addition you have broken the paragraph, Mr. Grammar Nazi! Wink smile

Why wouldn't I write my name in Latin script?
I want everyone to be able to read it. Teeth smile

I wrote the post in Notepad first, and then I copied it here, and that's when the paragraph went bad. Regular smile

If you want to be canonized as the true grammar Nazi, you must correct it even here. Teeth smile
