Subway to Sally - Abgesang (English translation)

English translation

Swansong

In the last secret hiding place
Deep beneath leaves and earth
There is a place for my coffin
There, where I shall live
Worms burrow through the planks
The ground gnaws at the lid
And I stare thorugh the cracks
My limbs will turn to sand

There I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting... waiting for you

The marble block on my head
Brings suffering hundredfold
Green thistles and grass already
Grow out of my entrails.

I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting... waiting for you
There I'm waiting for you

Death is the traveler's rest
The end of all labors

Rain washes down from the bones
Every fiber of my flesh
And the dark cold lies down
With me into the ashen grave

There I'm waiting for you

Death is the traveler's rest
The end of all labors

I'm not a native German speaker, so any comments that could correct or improve the translation are welcome and will be implemented. Regular smile
P.S. I know the title could be translated differently, e.g. as "Eulogy", but this sounded good to me...
