Ercüneyt Özdemir - Bırak Hüzünleri (English translation)

English translation

Let go of the misery

While I was rolling around so beautifully
I broke you unintentionally
You know how humans don't know what they're doing sometimes
While fleeing from misery into every nook and cranny,
We've stumbled and tripped unawarely
Saying 'Forgive me' doesn't suffice sometimes
I've hurt you, I'm guilty
Away with my tongue, alright I'm shutting up
For all catastrophes and wars I'm responsible
If I tire out from running,
If I feel sad for what I've lost,
Wouldn't you take me into your arms?
Wouldn't you look/care* as your eye does?
Let go of the misery, leave it there

*The verb [bakmak] in Turkish means both 'to look' as well as 'to care for'. A clever, poetic use of words to ask someone if they'd care
