Bad Things (Solo Version)

[Chorus: Camila Cabello]
Am I out of my head?
Am I out of my mind?
If you only knew the bad things I like
Don't think that I can explain it
What can I say, it's complicated
Don't matter what you say
Don't matter what you do
I only wanna do bad things to you
So good, that you can't explain it
What can I say, it's complicated

[Verse 1: Machine Gun Kelly]
Nothing's that bad
If it feels good
So you come back
Like I knew you would
And we're both wild
And the night's young
And you're my drug
Breathe you in 'til my face numb
Drop it down to that bass drum
I got what you dream about
Nails scratchin' my back tatt
Eyes closed while you scream out
And you keep me in with those hips
While my teeth sink in those lips
While your body's giving me life
And you suffocate in my kiss
Then you said

[Pre-Chorus: Machine Gun Kelly]
I want you forever
Even when we're not together
Scars on my body so I can take you wherever
I want you forever
Even when we're not together
Scars on my body I can look at you whenever

[Chorus: Camila Cabello]
Am I out of my head?
Am I out of my mind?
If you only knew the bad things I like
Don't think that I can explain it
What can I say, it's complicated
Don't matter what you say
Don't matter what you do
I only wanna do bad things to you
So good, that you can't explain it
What can I say, it's complicated

[Verse 2: Machine Gun Kelly]
I can't explain it
I love the pain
And I love the way your breath
Numbs me like novacaine
And we are
Always high
Keep it strange
Okay, yeah, I'm insane
But you the same
Let me paint the picture
Couch by the kitchen
Nothin' but your heels on
Losin' our religion
You're my pretty little vixen
And I'm the voice inside your head
That keeps telling you to listen to all the bad things I say
And you said

[Pre-Chorus: Machine Gun Kelly]
I want you forever
Even when we're not together
Scars on my body so I can take you wherever
I want you forever
Even when we're not together
Scars on my body I can look at you whenever

[Chorus: Camila Cabello]
Am I out of my head?
Am I out of my mind?
If you only knew the bad things I like
Don't think that I can explain it
What can I say, it's complicated
Don't matter what you say
Don't matter what you do
I only wanna do bad things to you
So good, that you can't explain it
What can I say, it's complicated

[Bridge: Camila Cabello]
The way we love, is so unique
And when we touch, I'm shivering
And no one has to get it
Just you and me
Cause we're just living
Between the sheets

[Pre-Chorus: Machine Gun Kelly + Camila Cabello]
I want you forever
Even when we're not together
Scars on my body so I can take you wherever
I want you forever
Even when we're not together
Scars on my body I can look at you whenever

[Chorus: Camila Cabello]
Am I out of my head?
Am I out of my mind?
If you only knew the bad things I like
Don't think that I can explain it
What can I say, it's complicated
Don't matter what you say
Don't matter what you do
I only wanna do bad things to you
So good, that you can't explain it
What can I say, it's complicated

Mauvaises Choses

Alors, tu as dit

et tu as dit

First stanza, lines 5 and 10:
"qu'est-ce que j'en peux dire ?" → "qu'est ce que je peux en dire"
And there's a typo in line 10: "Qu'est-se que" is "Qu'est-ce que"

Second stanza
line 1: "mauvaise" → "mauvais", without e
line 8: I'd rather translate "Breathe you in" into "Je te respire", since "Je t'inspire" means "I inspire you". And you missed the "e" at the end of "jusqu'à ce que"
line 9: well, actually I'm not sure to understand what the lyrics mean, could you please explain it?
"ver" → "vers"
"grosse caisse" is a kind of technical term, out of context (like in this song) people will rather think of some big box (I myself confused before checking the original lyrics). Maybe you could replace it with a synonym like "tambour"
line 11: "Tes ongles me grattent le dos" → "Tes ongles me griffent le dos" ("griffer" will fit better, it's more... rough, you know 0))
What's the meaning of "tatt"? According to an online dictionary it could mean "tattoo" but the dictionary itself didn't seem to be sure of that. And you added "poilu", is "tatt" about back hair?

Third stanza, line 3 : "Des cicatrices". Does "take" in this line have some dirty meaning? If it doesn't, I think the translation would be "afin que je puisse t'emmener" n'importe où" And you forgot the enter key after "où."

5th stanza
line 10: "relater" is very formal. Try "décrire" or "raconter" instead.
line 14: "tu est ma petite mégère" → "tu es" (since you have a very good French I guess this one is a typo) and "mégère" sounds very old, maybe "tigresse" instead if you want to keep the idea of wild beast.

8th stanza
line 3: "personne n'est tenu de" sounds also very formal. "personne n'est obligé de" would fit better
line 4: You can say "sauf" or "seulement", but not both.

There's a lot of repetitions, so do not forget to correct every stanza Regular smile

Thanks for the comments, Klou.

I'm not sure what stanza 2 line 9 means (although I understand the words, as I expect you do) - I suspect it's a simulation of drug-inspired meaningless ramble, but it might be some American idiom that I've no come across before. (Incidentally, I guess I used "grosse caisse" instead of tambour because musician friends called it that way back when, but you'reabsolutely right that it was the wrong choice here in this song.

"tatt" can be either an abbreviation for "tatoo" or an alternative spelling of "tat". When it's an abbreviation for "tattoo" that's "tatoo" in the sense "native-bred Indian pony" not in the sense "subcutaneous marks/pictures" but I guess it may also be used for the other sense although I haven't hear it used that way (and it hasn't found it's way into the OED). so I assumed it meant "tat" - and "tat" is a word with a dozen or more meanings as a noun, but all boiling down to something fibrous (eg toile de jute) or hairy or hair tangles (plus uses as related verbs) or it could be frivolité (de dentelle) or camelote. I guessed it would mean tangled hair at the back of the neck. I could be wrong - after all, the language is AmE not BrE and my total time in the USA is only a few weeks altogether and I didn't get involved at all with American teenage culture, only with middle aged engineers and scientists and would-be engineers.

3rd stanza line three - it seems to me that a sexual meaning was intended here, but it could also be completely innocent of any such suggestion, so I decided to look for something that might be ambiguous in French and would be an accurate translation. I don't think "take" here means "emmener" though, because the scars could have no effect on that, it has to have another meaning and there are three possible other meanings, one applicable when it's the woman who is the "I" in that stanza (and in fact she is, as indicated by the wrods being attributed to her by the last line of the previous stanza the first two times it is sung and by the fact that when she siings it alone - the third time it is sung - there's no preceeding attribution), one applicable when the "I" of the stanza is the man (which doesn't fit) and one which is applicable to either and is ambiguous as to whether there is sexual innuendo here. I had chosen the first one, not having noticed the third (and having listened carefully to be certain the words were the same every time and to whom they were attributed) but now I think the third is a better choice. So I've changed "laisser entrer" to "supporter".

I'm not sure what to do with the line "keep it strange"; I've gione for "toujours surprenant" (can't think what the right word for "strange" is, "étrange" and "bizarre" and " insolite" and "inconnu" all seem wrong so maybe "surprenant" is right).

Klou    Sun, 12/03/2017 - 12:06

Actually the meaning of this line was already on LT Teeth smile : http://lyricstranslate.com/fr/drop-it-down-bass-drum
I don't know if there are French expressions close to this, so maybe it would be better to translate the idea rather than the words. I think of something like "T'amener jusqu'à la jouissance".

Thank you for the explanations, this word is more complicated than I thought. I think you chose a good meaning, since it fits the context well. Just one more thing for this line: it's "Tes ongles griffent mon dos poilu" instead of "Tes ongles me griffent le dos poilu".

It's too bad that the man isn't the "I", for you could have translated it literally into "prendre" (which also has a sexual meaning). But "supporter" will be good, as you said.

"insolite" and "inconnu" don't fit at all. "toujours bizarres" would be like "we are weirdos", and "surprenant" is more about someone you didn't expect to act like this (there's no bad connotation)
