Bamboleiro/Old Horse

Spanish

Bamboleo/Caballo Viejo

Bamboleo, bambolea

y no hace caso a falseta
y no le obedece a un freno
ni lo para falsa rienda

Bamboleo, bambolea

Bamboleiro/Old Horse

Bamboleiro, bamboleira
Because I have learnt to live my life this way
Bamboleiro, bamboleira
Because I have learnt to live my life this way

when love
arrives/comes in such way
One can not realize/perceive
the carutal becomes green again
and guamanchito flourishes
and the rope bursts

when love
arrives in such way
One must not be blamed for
Desiring each other has not a right time
Neither a date in calendar
when desires meet

They give to the horse the grass
because he is old and tired (he=the horse,in poetic sense)
But they can't realize that
when they slacken the reins of a captive heart
this heart becomes a runaway horse

And if the old horse finds a sorrel filly
His heart rushes
and it doesn't matter the falseta
and he doesn't obey his bit
Not even a false rein can stop him

Bamboleiro, bamboleira
Because I have learnt to live my life this way
Bamboleiro, bamboleira
Because I have learnt to live my life this way

They give to the horse the grass
because he is old and tired
But they can't realize that
when they slacken the reins of a captive heart
this heart becomes a runaway horse

The colt gives time to the time
because the colt has all the time ahead
but an old horse cannot
permit a flower - which one gives him - to pass him by
because after this life of his
there's not another opportunity

Bamboleiro, bamboleira
Because I have learnt to live my life this way
Bamboleiro, bamboleira
Because I have learnt to live my life this way

carutal, guamanchito = plants mostly common in Venezuela *
alazana, falset, bit = terms from equinoculture, alazan is a race of horses, falseta is a kind of rein, bit is a kind of break for horses
