Eleonora Filina - Bubliki (бублики) (English translation)

English translation

Night is approaching, the lantern sways,
The Lantern sways in the fog of night.
And I'm one independent, yet unhappy peddler
I'm standing here, selling Bagels (1)
(REF:) (x2)
Buy bagels! Steaming Hot Bagels!
Buy bagels ! Come get them now !
From me, an unhappy independent peddler
Yes, In this merciless night, excuse me..
My father was a drunk, a sucker for a glass of wine
My mother a cleaner, what a disgrace !
My sister a prostitute, a real slippery lass
And my little brother a pickpocket!
The Inspector with his notepad, his big baton
Swears to take away my vendor's license
But I'm a woman from Odessa, known to all,
And right now I'm selling without a license !
Buy bagels! Steaming Hot Bagels!
Buy bagels ! Come get them now !
And with these Bagels I'll make the rubles
That are so dear to everyone in the country
Buy bagels! Steaming Hot Bagels!
Buy bagels ! Come get them now !
Don't stand around for long, pay me some dollars
That are better than rubles in this republic
Don't lose your temper, pay me some euros
That in this republic are even dearer !

If you have corrections. i will consider them if they are made in a courteous way, including stanza and line, and what it is that needs to be replaced. If you only type one or two words into the comment box, without giving the location, I will simply ignore it.
Another option is you correct the entire song and paste it so I can in turn copypaste it, which is less work for me. You can also take my translation and make your own translation using mine as a basis.
If you start a fight over commas, apostrophes, grammar, syntax, lower and upper case, english dialects that you don't understand cause your english is just too poor, as it has now happened for the last couple weeks constantly. I promise you soon as you start monkeying around and bossing me around with your comments that I can't delete. I will delete the translation instead. and Keep it on my computer where it belongs.

Author's comments:

(1) or "selling bagels".. the russian bagels are similar looking to their american counterparts, but with less sugar and more nourishing. often lined up on strings or sticks they were wold my street peddlers.
