Blindly (A ciegas)

Spanish

A ciegas

Yo muchas noches sentía,
cercano ya el día,
tus pasos en la sala,
¡Gracias a Dios que has llegao,
que no te ha pasao,
ninguna cosa mala!
En tus manos un aroma,
que trasminaba como el clavel,
pero yo lo echaba a broma
porque era esclava de tu querer.
Que me he entretenido,
las cosas del juego.
Y yo te decía, serrando los ojos
lo mismo que un ciego:

No tienes que darme cuenta,
a ciegas yo te he creío,
quien va por el mundo a tientas
lleva los rumbos perdios.
Llevo una venda en los ojos
como pintan a la Fe;
no hay dolor como esta gloria,
de estar queriendo sin ver.
Mi corazón no me engaña,
y a tu caridad se entrega.
¡Duerme tranquilo, sentrañas,
que te estoy queriendo a ciegas!

No sé qué mano cristiana
abrió una mañana,
mi puerta de repente,
luz que cortó en mil pedazos,
como un navajazo,
la venda de mi frente.
Me quitaron la ceguera
con un cuchillo de compasión
y hoy va solo por la acera,
sin lazarillo, mi corazón.
¡To eso e mentira!,
¡lo firmo y lo apruebo!
Y yo te decía queriendo ponerme
la venda de nuevo:

No tienes que darme cuenta,
que no te las he pedío;
yo voy por el mundo a tientas
desde que te he conocío.
Yo me clavaré en los ojos,
alfileres de cristal,
pa no verme cara a cara
contigo y con tu verdad.
Miente de noche y de día,
y a jurarme en falso llega.
¡Sigue mintiendo, alma mía,
para yo quererte a ciegas!

English translation

Blindly

Many nights I felt,
when the day was near,
your steps in the room.
Thank God you came,
and nothing bad,
happened to you!
A scent in your hands
that filtered through like a carnation,
but I didn't take it seriously
because I was a slave to your love.
I had fun,
game stuff.
And I said, closing the eyes
like a blind:

You don't have to explain,
I believed you blindly,
who goes fumbling around
has lost the path.
I carry a fold in the eyes
like Faith is typically depicted;
there's no pain like this glory,
of loving withour seeing.
My heart doesn't fool me,
and gives in to your good will.
Sleep calm, my dear,
I'm loving you blindly!

I don't know what hand
opened a morning
my door suddenly,
a light that cut in a thousand pieces,
like a stab,
the fold of my eyes.
They took of my blindness
with a knife of compassion
and now goes lonely by the street
my heart without a guide.
It's all a lie!
I sign and prove!
And I said to you wanting
to put on the fold again:

You don't have to explain,
I didn't ask you;
I go fumbling around
since I met you.
I'll nail in my eyes
crystal pins;
to not see myself face to face,
with you and your truth.
Lie night and day,
even swear in false.
Keep lying, my dear,
for me to love you blindly!
