Please add Thai and Cantonese language into options. Thank you.

They won't add Mandarin or Cantonese Chinese since there are already too many Chinese songs and there's no way they could separate each song.

I thought that's what users do? Did they add lyrics officially too?

I know but someone mentioned that they should add Brazilian Portuguese and EU Portuguese and then someone said that for the same reason they won't separate the Chinese language. There're way too many songs and there aren't many editors/moderators who speak Chinese.
In that way they should separate Arabic into Standard, Egyptian, Libanese etc In this case what they did was to add Arabic and Arabic (Other varieties) which includes any dialect.

Also if someone who doesn't speak Chinese but wants to add the lyrics most probably will add it on the wrong part and there's going to be a bigger mess.

* My advice would be to add a parenthesis next to the title of each song (Mandarin) or (Cantonese) . Also don't forget that when you add a song you first have to write the title in Latin letters and then with Chinese letters

It sounds reasonable to do as you suggest in convenience of searching. I understand your thoughts. But I must say Cantonese is not like Brazilian Portuguese and EU Portuguese. Cantonese is a dialect of Chinese just like Catalunya versus Spanish, relevant but different language system. That's why I bring it up. Nevertheless, let's stay the same for convenience. Thank you for replying fast and sincerely.

If Cantonese and Mandarin are as different as castellano (Spanish) and catalá (Catalan) they should certainly be separated. Catalá is a dialect of occitan, not of castellano!

I already suggested Chinese to be split into two categories: Cantonese and Mandarin. It was split for a little while, but the main problem with this is simply that it would be extremely hard to check all the content already added and marked simply as 'Chinese' as to check if it's in Cantonese, Mandarin or another variety of that language. It was reverted sometime after it, so that's why now we have only one category for Chinese.

A workaround for that is, as Miley suggested, to add the variety between parentheses in the song title or leave a comment.

Depending on the quantity of content you add, Taba can be given a standalone entry or an 'Indigenous Languages (Argentina)' one.

We often add languages when there are a couple of songs in it.

It helps more if you provide links to content in that language - that is the only way we know a language needs to be added.

just add it i'll provide content.

its a catch 22 cause i can't add content unless theres a category.

You can add it as 'Other' and as soon as we have enough (just a few lyrics would suffice) we would add it.

[@Freda], thanks, but we need some more content in that language to suggest it.

I had added a translation in that language here (I show it as "other" for now):

Also, this wiki link that explains that language
