Lynda Thalie - Histoire d'un Amour (English translation)

English translation

A Love Story

My story, it's a story of a love,
my lament, it's the complaint of two hearts,
a novel just like others,
which could be yours,
people from here, or elsewhere. 1

It's the fame, which lights without burning,
it's the dream, that we dream without sleeping,
like a tree which stands,
full of strength and tenderness
towards the day that will come.

It's the story of an eternal and banal love,
that brings everyday good and evil,
including the time where we embrace, when we say ''goodbye''
with the evenings of agony, and the wonderful mornings.

My story, it's the story everybody knows,
those who love each other play the same, I know it
and tragic or rather, profound
it's the only song in the world
which will never end.

Just learning.

c'est l'histoire d'un amour -> it's the story of a love (affair)

pourrait être le vôtre -> could be yours (i.e. this story is like any love story)

Gens d'ici ou bien d'ailleurs -> that's a kind of vocative: "people from here or elsewhere, this story could be yours".
"ou bien" is just an emphasis on "ou", like "or else" is on "or"

without burn -> burning ?

Plein de force et de tendresse -> full of strength and tenderness

Avec l'heure où l'on s'enlace -> "avec" is rather "with" or "including"...

l'histoire qu'on connaît -> rather "the well-known story" ("on" has its most general meaning here, like "everybody")

Ceux qui s'aiment jouent la même, je le sais -> you got it right. All lovers play the same story, she knows it.

Et tragique ou bien profonde -> again "ou bien" is just like "or rather", an emphasis on "or"
