Hello, I am translating a song to spanish and I would like to know the mean of "You roll like a stone girl you should not stop" literally in spanish isn't understandable Ruedas como una chica de piedra, no deberías parar, What would be the interpretation of that phrase?
thanks for your help.
You roll like a stone girl you should not stop
And I don't want to step on your feet
And you do what you do to stay on top
And I don't want to make you feel incomplete
Maybe a reference to this song:

To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
The English lyrics need some commas. "You roll like a stone, girl/ You should not stop" or "You roll like a stone/ Girl, you should not stop". I didn't listen the song, so I'm not sure which one is correct. Anyhow Ruedas como una chica de piedra is not the translation. :)
For the meaning of "roll like a stone" you already have an explanation in the previous comments.
Yes, I think the same. Comma its important, should be like "You roll like a stone, girl/ You should not stop"
here is the link of the song : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7-sTM7XqYo
Is that the original meaning of the proverb? I always understood it the other way round - "if you stay too long in one place, you will lose your drive and your spirit".
"I don't want to step on your feet" mean something else like I don't want to get into your business?
Yes, more or less.
"I don't want to tread on your toes" or "I don't want to step on your toes" means something like... I don't want to offend/upset you by involving myself in this situation".
For example, "My sister spent so long planning this dinner, I can't possibly tread on her toes by suggesting a different main dish"
thank you :)
