Hayatta Bir Gün

English

A Day In The Life

I read the news today, oh, boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph

He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Lords

I saw a film today, oh, boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I'd love to turn you on

Woke up
Got out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up I noticed I was late

Found my coat
And grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke
And I went into a dream

Laa la la la
La la laa-aah

Laa-aah laa
La la laa-aah

I read the news today, oh, boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.

I'd love to turn you on

Hayatta Bir Gün

Bugün haberleri okudum, ah, çocuğum
Başarılı bir adam ile ilgili
Haber ne kadar üzücü olsaydı da
Gülmek zorundaydım
Fotoğrafı gördüm

Arabada aklını şaşırmış*
Işıkların değiştiğini görmemiş
Bir kalabalık etrafına dolaşmış, bakıyorlardı
Bu yüzü daha önce görmüşlerdi
Kimse emin değildi, belki de Lordlar Kamarası'ndandı

Bugün bir filme gittim, ah, çocuğum
İngiliz Ordusu henüz yeni savaşı kazanmıştı
Bir kalabalık sırtını döndü
Ama ben bakmak zorundaydım
Daha önce okumuştum bu kitabı
Seni döndürmeyi (yaşama) isterdim

Uyandım
Yataktan çıktım
Tarağımla saçlarımın her yerini taradım
Aşağıya indim ve bir çay içtim
Ve farkettim ki, ben geç kalmıştım

Ceketimi buldum
Ve şapkamı taktım
Otobüsü son anda yakaladım
Yıkarıya çıktım ve bir sigara içmeliydim
Ve biri konuştu
Ve bir rüyaya daldım

Laa la la la
La la laa-aah

Laa-aah laa
La la laa-aah

Bugün haberleri okudum, oh, çocuğum
Blackburn, Lancashire'daki dörtbin çukurda
Ve çukurların küçük olmasına rağmen
Hepsini saymak zorundaydılar
Şimdi Albert Yurdunu doldurmak için kaç çukur olduğunu biliyorlar

Seni döndürmeyi (yaşama) isterdim

Sagol, kardesim! I love your translation! I have just a couple notes:

1) I'm not sure "Arabada aklı şaşırmış" for "he blew his mind out in a car" is right. I think the meaning was "He took drugs (got high) in a car", which would explain why he was a little distracted while driving and "didn't notice that the light had changed". It might also explain why the singer "just had to laugh" when he "saw the photograph".

2)I'm just curious as to why you chose "Albert Yurdunu" versus "Albert Salonu".

Meraba, thank you very much!

1) I know ''arabada aklını şaşırmış'' is not the exact translate of ''he blew his mind out in a car'' I didn't know how to explain the sentence to be honest. You're probably right about the meaning.
2) I thought, the last part was about burring and stuff so I thought using ''yurt'' seemed reasonable.
