Marta Sánchez - De mujer a mujer (English translation)

Spanish

De mujer a mujer

Convivimos con el miedo
a perder la libertad;
miedo a nuestros sentimientos,
miedo a la felicidad...

La vida no está muerta,
dormida nada más;
un beso la despierta
y la sientes respirar.

[Estribillo:]
De mujer a mujer,
sola frente a mi espejo...
De mujer a mujer,
me repito el consejo:
Libera tu corazón
y sigue su inspiración...
El amor... El amor nos sienta mejor.

Somos perlas encerradas
en su estuche de cristal;
unas flores cultivadas
bajo luz artificial.

[Estribillo:]
De mujer a mujer,
sola frente a mi espejo...
De mujer a mujer,
me repito el consejo:
Libera tu corazón
y sigue su inspiración...
El amor... El amor nos sienta mejor.

[Puente:]
No estamos más seguras
en nuestra soledad.
Un toque de locura
es una necesidad....

[Estribillo:]
De mujer a mujer,
sola frente a mi espejo...
De mujer a mujer,
me repito el consejo:
Libera tu corazón
y sigue su inspiración...
El amor... El amor nos sienta mejor.

¡Libera tu corazón
y sigue su inspiración...!
El amor... El amor... ¡Nos sienta mejor!

English translation

From One Woman to The Other

We live with the fear
Of losing our freedom;
Fear of our own feelings,
Fear of our own happiness...

Life isn't dead,
It was only asleep;
A kiss has awakened it
And now you can feel it breathe.

[Chorus:]
From one woman to the other,
All alone before my vanity's mirror...
From one woman to another,
I tell myself those wise words of advice once again:
Set your heart free
And follow its inspiration...
Love... Love is what suits us the best.

We're all pearls, locked
Within a crystal casing;
Flowers that have been cultivated
Under artificial light.

[Chorus:]
From one woman to the other,
All alone before my vanity's mirror...
From one woman to another,
I tell myself those wise words of advice once again:
Set your heart free
And follow its inspiration...
Love... Love is what suits us the best.

[Bridge:]
We are not any safer
Lost in our own solitude.
A little touch of madness
Is indispensable...

[Chorus:]
From one woman to the other,
All alone before my vanity's mirror...
From one woman to another,
I tell myself those wise words of advice once again:
Set your heart free
And follow its inspiration...
Love... Love is what suits us the best.

Set your heart free
And follow its inspiration...!
Love... Love... Is what suits us the best!

Hi, just a comment. In English, you can say 'From one woman to the other', avoiding the repetition of a term.

That is actually true! Tongue smile

I wanted to be a little more loyal to the original text, but you're completely right: in English, it makes a lot more sense to say it as you have indicated. I'll change it right now Regular smile

Have a lovely evening and thanks for your help!
