Irina Karamarković - Došla je sestra Jelena (English translation)

Serbian

Došla je sestra Jelena

Дошла је сестра Јелена,
довела брата рањена,
да тражи с мора доктора,
да вида брата рањена.

Бога ти, с мора докторе,
шта ти се чини од рана?
Бога ми, сестро Јелено,
припреми брату што немаш

English translation

Sister Jelena has come

Sister Jelena has come
and she brought her wounded brother,
to look for a doctor by the sea,
to see her wounded brother

God, you - the doctor by the seam
what do you think of this wound?
God, sister Jelena,
prepare things for the brother that you don't have

I have few corrections for you Regular smile
1. to see her wounded brother -> to heal her wounded brother (видати = to heal, видети = to see; он вида = he heals, он види = he sees or he can see)
2. God, you - the doctor by the seam -> In the name of God, hey, doctor from the sea (Бога ти is some kind of buzzword, similar to 'за име Божије', and 'докторе' is 'пети падеж' or 'fifth case (vocative)', so it shall be translated with the exclamation 'hey' or some other similar word, ' с мора' simply means 'from the sea'
3. what do you think of this wound? -> what do you think of these wounds? (It's a plural)
4. God, sister Jelena, -> Really, sister Jelena (Бога ми is also a buzzword. I think it's the best option to translate it using 'really' or 'fairly'.
With kind regards from Montenegro,
Stefan
