Kosmikud - Ei roosid (English translation)

English translation

Roses Won't

Roses [were] about to open their buds
I was walking along Ravila1 Road
Red roses
I still wanted to give them as a gift

Destiny wanted something else
I was carried a bit afar
In pain, for days, nights - long ones
Later for weeks too

Roses [were] about to open their buds
I was walking along Ravila Road
Red roses
I still wanted to give them as a gift

When I got home from there
Wishes disappeared
I couldn't wait for
red roses

Ch.
Naanaanananannaa, roses won't help

The same goes for reusing parts of my translations in your own (parallel) translations. Id est: it is forbidden. (If a translation is IYO slightly wrong, I'd be glad if commented or PMed.)
If you want to translate my translation into a third language or use it as a basis, you are welcome. Especially if you do it on this website. Just be so kind and mention it and me. :) You can also notify me (in addition, it would make me recheck my work and maybe find errors that you wouldn't copy then) but you don't have to.

Most of my translations are works in progress. One never knows when a revelation can strike. One word: recheck.

Author's comments:

Just a thought, if it has to be written as "ravila" (in lowercase) and could, therefore, be taken as a synonym of "hospital", then "Käisin ravila teed" could mean something like "I went back and forth from the hospital over a longer period". "Punaseid roose tahtsin kinkida veel" can also mean "I wanted to gift more red roses" or "[Btw], I also wanted to gift red roses". The last one might actually we the most probable and logical.
