After the Rain (Etter Regnet)

After the Rain

Chorus:
Surrounded by dark clouds and the wind gets colder.
Surrounded by dark rainshowers and the sky is coming down.
So gray and grim, lying wet, but proof is shown
that after the rain the birds will sing.

Have you ever really had enough
cried within, tried to be understood.
Burnt-out, no energy after giving with both hands.
You've burnt the candle from both ends.
Went from pessimist to optimist,
turned negative to positive
defined the joys of living
but living turned into something imaginary.
We killed that state of mind
turned towards the sun and away from the shadows
Changed our thoughts, because after the rain the birds will sing.

Chorus:
Surrounded by dark clouds and the wind gets colder.
Surrounded by dark rainshowers and the sky is coming down.
So gray and grim, lying wet, but proof is shown
that after the rain the birds will sing.
(oaoaoaoaoaoa)
After the rain the birds will sing.
(oaoaoaoaoaoa)
After the rain the birds will sing.

Hail keeps falling
it all turns to ice down here.
Heat is leaving
but we look on the bright side.
The northern wind feels warming on your cheek
and the mind thaws the ice into adrenaline.
The light creates the shadows
nothing scary nothing reassuring.
We wouldn't know what good weather was if there never were clouds.
If you could have everything you wouldn't take it
couldn't stand up if nothing ever fell.
Who had lost if no one cheered
after the rain the birds will sing.

After the rain, the birds will sing.
After the rain, the birds will sing.

The rain is endless, all that's green turns brown.
Mud where once was grass, hydroplane and run off the road.
Earthworms are scared to the surface
that damned Great Flood
the largest flood ever, washes over the earth.

(Chorus)

A little hard to translate into something that makes sense because the lyrics are largely made up of only partial sentences.
