The flood is breaking, in Norway there is spring
Flaumen går, I Noreg er vår
Flaumen går,
I Noreg er vår,
Bjørka sprett i dalom.
Dølakar
Traust og hard
Rydjer ferdregard.
Bykar stram
På gata går fram,
Trur han skal oss lære.
Men ikkje eg
Fær støkk av deg,
Sjølv eg rår min veg.
Bøndan' er ikkje lenger mjuke,
Husbondsretten, han vil me bruke.
Retten er vår,
Skulda er dår
À… lyde Noregs kår.
Om seint me kjem,
Så er det med klem.
Me vil garden rydja.
Bondemål,
Kvast som stål,
Gjev ikkje lenger tol.
Norsk mål vil me i Noreg hava,
Ikkje lenger med dansken kava.
Bondemål,
Kvast som stål,
Gjev ikkje lenger tol.
Blankt som gull
Og mjukt som ull
Er det norske målet.
Som sol på fjell,
Som blome-tjeld,
Som fuglesong om kveld.
Tusen års rot det hev i landet,
Tusen år til så skal det stande.
Flaumen går,
I Noreg er vår,
Og dølan' er det som rår.
Sumar-sol
Skin på jord,
Så jonsok-blomen laver!
Læt frå koll
Lur over voll,
Og dølan' slær på skjold.
Av skal ho hivast lurve-hetta!
Gullhjelm lyser i morgon-gletta.
Læt frå koll
Lur over voll,
Og dølan' slær på skjold.
Haralds verk
Fjellbonde sterk
Gjer no andre gongen.
Gamalt grjot
Av kjemperot
Endå hev manndom og mot.
Kome alle, ver med på ferda,
Så skal det spørjast i vide verda,
At Noregs mann
Gjekk på og vann
Atter sitt eige land.
The flood is breaking, in Norway there is spring
The flood breaks,
in Norway there is spring,
in the valleys the birch trees are budding.
Man from the Valley*
silent and sturdy
clears the land of the farm of his fathers.
See how the light rises in the Woodlands,
the avalanches crashes along the sides of the mountains.
The flood breaks,
in Norway there is spring,
and the men of the Valley reign.
From the mountain trickles
a brook so tenderly
amongst grass and stones.
Many small brooks merge
into a river
the most beautiful you could ever see.
Listen how the water rushes
listen how the waterfall surges
The flood breaks,
in Norway there is spring,
and the men of the Valley reign.
Small brook
can you understand
however did it gain this power/this voice.
The running stream
is a grown man.
Stop him if you can.
No man can turn the stream.
Lumber and houses are brushed aside.
The flood breaks,
in Norway there is spring,
and the men of the Valley reign.
Man of the city, stiff and tight
in the streets he walks,
believing he is our teacher.
But I am not
intimidated by you
I decide my own path.
The farmers are no longer meek,
the rights of the landowners will we use.
The right is ours
(uncertain..)
...
If we return late
We are nevertheless strong.
We will clear the farm.
The language of the farmers,
sharp as steel
will be patient no more.
We must have Norwegian language in Norway,
no more struggling with the Danish language.
The language of the farmers,
sharp as steel
will be patient no more.
Shiny as gold
and soft as wool
is the Norwegian language.
Like sunshine on mountains,
Like fields of flowers(?)
Like the birdsong in the evening
Its roots run a thousand years deep
And a thousand years more it shall stand
The flood breaks,
in Norway there is spring,
and the men of the Valley reign.
In the summer
The sun shines on the earth
Makes the red campion blossom and flourish!
From over the hills
horns cry out
And the men of the valley clash their shields.
Off with the poor man´s hood
The golden helmets gleams in the morning light
From over the hills
horns cry out
And the men of the valley clash their shields.
The work of King Harald*
you, strong farmer,
must repeat now, the second time.
Old strong rocks
with deep roots
yet hold manhood and courage.
Come all, join our cause/journey
And it will be heard all over the world
that the men of Norway
ventured on and won
their own country back.

Here's one performance of this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5szUpCssHc8
Video is added!
so...is it a problem, which the LT program reads as code?? can you either post an example here or pm it to me?
It's your fault and probably the codepage you used for the text, if you copy pasted it from a dos compatible text file try opening the text file in MS Word or other unicode text editor and then paste it here. See here for example a word that appears correctly in my text (sjå)
So it's possible to correct them.
It's a guest who submitted the song.
I'm trying to correct, tell me if it's mistaken.
Thanks dunkelheit and brightswan! it's ok now
evfokas, I didn't quite get how it's anyone's fault? to the best of my knowledge, the uploader probably used a different keyboard layout (or maybe alt characters?) that may have caused problems for certain encoding settings. Question is, was I the only one seeing the text messed up? or was it for all of you?
TrampGuy, I also saw the text messed up but now it looks fine except for some typos (Og døan' slær på skjold =Og dølan´slær på skjold. Harald verk = Haralds verk) but as the spelling is a bit varying anyway it´s not that big a deal, it´s fully understandable, for a Norwegian at least:)
@Gjendine -if you leave the correct text here (in the comments), we (Moderators) can copy and paste them into the source lyrics field. Just let us know where they go.
Go for it! You can either leave them in the comments, or pm me with them if you want!!
