Hello folks, I have just published my android app "LyTrans"!
It is useful to learn any language with music, it can translate the single word while the song is playing and the lyrics is shown
LyTrans can:
- plays your music
- automatically finds, downloads and stores the lyrics
- if you don't know a word click on it and you'll see the translation.

Works with all languages.
Connection request only to download lyrics or dictionary.

What do you think?

Good idea, although that really is not the first lyrics app (although the first with integrated translation tool, as far as I'm concerned). Seems interesting, so far.

Which translation service do you use?

Since I don't own a smartphone I can't test how good your app really works.
Or is there a way to install apps on a computer?

And which sources do you use for the lyrics?

Hello, i'm using the free dictionaries from wiktionary.org, they are very full of meanings and also not so heavy (few Mb depening on the language). About the lyrics source i'm using azlyrics service.
Sorry i think you need an android phone, but if this project goes well i think i'll make something for Windows PC

Wiktionary.org? I've rarely use them because 90% of words I'd search for don't have any entry there at all let alone translations or even idiomatic meanings...
Well, for a beginner at learning a language it should be okay, though.

Azlyrics? I haven't used that website very often yet. To test it I've searched for a couple of worldwide known bands, and there only were lyrics of the most mainstreamy ones. Looking at the "browsing artists" feature, I noticed that their database is fairly small.

When searching for lyrics I often use Tunewiki and MusiXmatch since these are applications of Spotify, but half of the lyrics I'd like to know can't also be found there.

Wow! So strange! I find it very very good, there are a lot of words more than the oxford that i used in my phone, for example look at the screenshot you'll see that for each word there are a lot of meanings and suggestion/example to use it.
Yes i know that azlyrics isn't so big, but i found my songs all so far, i also checked a lot of others albums and songs and it seemed very good for cover the most famous songs, i also found songs of artist not so famous like "Casting Crowns" or "Krystal Meyers".
I'm glad for your interest for this app, i'd love if you could try it, maybe with a phone of your friend. I'm sure that your judge could help me for the future modification (whether it will succeed, otherwise i don't think i'll spend other time on it :-) )

This must really be an awesomely cool app. Now people start registering on LT just to sing the praises of it.

EDIT :
This and the following joking comments were referring to a spam that got deleted.
Nothing wrong with the original app.

It really is just a spam! The link leads to some app (for watching pirated movies I think) that is unexistent in Google Play and AppStore and thus requires disabling some security for installation. But there seems to be button to report a single message, only the whole thread.

Would that it were only to watch cheap porn. Disable your security settings as requested and you'll soon find out how incredibly awesome this app really is Regular smile

That's good. The only trouble is, the comments now seem to refer to the original app Teeth smile

Hopefully that will be enough to spare the app's author an unpleasant surprise next time he reads the thread Regular smile
