Really nice idea!
I hope there will be more special events like this in the future.

But it seems to me that the votes you give by this methode aren't shown on the normal page of the translation. That is strange. What kind of sense do these ratings have, if no one can see them?

Btw, there is another thing about the (normal) rating system on this page that might not need a new thread but bothers me: Why can you not see what ratings your own translations have, even though you see the ratings if you, e.g., aren't logged in?

This also happened to me, my comment was posted twice, too. I thought it was my own mistake but now I think it was due to this bug.

@Samane.zt: Well, at least you can edit the comment and say that it is posted wrong.

Samane,

Thanks for reporting the problem! Some additional details, like translation you commented on and another translation, would be really helpful.

We've double checked, and there're no more translations with mixed comments.

Samane, is there any chance you've copy pasted the comment? Those two comment that appear on different translations are not fully identical, which means they were edited before posting.

Double comments on the same page are still a problem, but we'll clean them up.

@lt: Hm, now that you mentioned it... I only noticed that there was the same comment twice after I had edited something in the comment.

Btw, anything new about the bugs that I mentioned? I have checked it again: No ratings that I give within the new rating function are shown within the normal function. Or is that on purpose??

We did it intentionally, for the sake of keeping the intrigue. Now we see that it was not very good idea Regular smile
The votes would be saved to the normal pages after work-week end.

Okay, thanks for the information. I don't think it's a bad idea. But it would have been nice if you had mentioned that before...

Hm, about the bug with the normal rating system that I mentioned in my first comment in this thread: You cannot see any ratings given on your own translations. But if you look at your translations while not logged in you can see the ratings. Is there a reason for this?

Sure, if you see all of your mistakes at once you'll go ballistic/berserk/etc and delete all of your translations XD

We are going to upgrade profile pages ASAP, they'll reflect all user's translations,
requests, ratings etc.

This looks like serious problem, it was not discovered on test site. We are going to temporary close work-week for a while to fix it.

Thanks for your reports-suggestions-comments!

Seems that when I post a comment on the work week board without giving a rating, the system generates double comments. Can you check this? Thanks

I think these double comments might be intended :-)

Most likely you're right. If so, it would be lucky to finally catch the bug:)
It will be repaired tomorrow morning, we have a night now.

We've added a fix for this. Please let us know if you see any other issues. Thanks!

Now... I like work week, because of the idea behind it: Improve youRself - comment and get commented!
But after receiving some comments yesterday I'm kinda bummed...

I think the anonymous comments are useless! Are people really affraid of commenting someone else's work?
As the comment is shown as 'guest', the member who wrote the comment won't get to see if I've responded or not, right? (I gave an anonymous comment to see if it would show up, but it didn't show up on my profile at all!)

Another thing... give some constructive critisism! Things like: 'poor use of tense and bad time adverbs'
or 'Some minor changes needed in words order' really don't help!
Give examples of how you think something should have been translated or what the real meaning of a word or sentence is.

If you don't know what you've done wrong, how can you improve?

I agree 100% with you on this. Although the commentator has every right to not identify him/herself, it's necessary to exist a way for "guest" commentators to keep in touch with translators, so that replies can be read and they can perhaps reach some consensus together. Of course, these comments taking part of the work week should be listed privately on the commentator's profile only, I mean no visible to other users, moderators included, otherwise there wouldn't be privacy after all. I haven't used anonymous comments so far, but maybe if I was a newbie I would feel awkward leaving comments in other people's work. There are people that really seem not to have inner stability to receive a suggestion or critics from others and that transform a mere comment into a personal offense. That's why I think anonymous comments are useful in these cases Regular smile

I get your point. But the thing that really bothers me is the fact that some members don't give constructive critisism. I saw a comment where a member said that a verse was just awful, while just a simple correction or explanation would have been sufficient.

Not only will the translator benefit from that additional information, but others (readers) would as well.
