Songs, where 2 languages are used
Hi, I'm looking for songs, where 2 languages are used.
For example:
- Varvara & Ruslana - Dva Puti (Варвара & Руслана - Два пути)
Russian+Ukrainian
- Theater of Tragedy - Venus
Latin+English
- Nicolas Cantoro & Alexia Palombo - Que pourra me dire
French+Italian
- David Carreira & Léa Castel - So yu e eu
French+Portuguese
- Loona - Vamos a la playa
English+Spanish
- Arash & Helena- Broken Angel
Persian+English
And so on
Does someone know oter songs with 2 languages in it? That would be much better, when there's no English in that song =) But if it is there - anyway, write me what's that song.
Thanks to everyone's help!
Most of Haggard's songs that aren't on the album "Progressive" are in many languages (German, English, Italian and Latin mostly, though they have a little French and Spanish too).
Also, many urban songs from Latin America (especially from Puerto Rico) are written in English and Spanish. And in France, there are many artists that record songs featuring Arabs. One of those is Léa Castel, but you can look around in Youtube and you'll find some similar artists.
Para servirle, señor Snovyda:
La Chanson d'Orphée - Bài Ca Hạnh Phúc - Thanh Lan.
Y algo más:
Ragheb Alama & Andy - Yala Ya Shabab /
Next 3, a Swedish pop trio. Most of their songs have Swedish, Spanish, and a little English in them:
one, two
Jonatan Cerrada - "A Chaque Pas" (French & Spanish)
Christian Brøns & Patrik Isaksson - "Venter" (Danish & Swedish)
There's a cover song I like called "Это Любовь" by Yulia Valentayn. It's Russian & Spanish (cover of a Spanish song by Paradisio):

Macedonian + Serbian (македонски и српски)
Area feat. Van Gogh - Dozvoli mi (Дозволи ми)

My new favorite for dual language songs is Muri og Mario. Their songs are a mixture of Danish and Italian. For example: http://lyricstranslate.com/en/request/casa-del-amor. Another on this site by them is Mio Amore.
Manu Chao and La mano negra sometimes mix French and Spanish.
This famous Khaled hit is mostly in French with a few lines in Arab at the end:
This song from La souris déglinguée is part French part Chinese
Here are some songs that mix Dutch and French.
In 2005 Alderliefste, Ramses Shaffy (R.I.P.) and Liesbeth List made a bilingual version of Ramses Shaffy's classic "Laat me"
The Shorts with "Comment ça va" (they also made other versions like English/French and German/French)
A song by a bilingual Belgian girl:
Thank you all! And I've found more too!
- Maldita - Porque
Filipino+Spanish
- Ngọc Lan & Kiều Nga – Anh thì không
Vietnamese+French
Ill Niño. Some of their songs interleave a few Spanish lines in English lyrics. Others, are written fully in English or Spanish.
What Comes Around, from them, has Spanish lines into English lyrics.
Also, Inner Universe from Origa. From what I read, it's written in Latin, Russian and English, with the bulk in Russian (I can only understand English)
EDIT: Some songs form Epica have lines in Latin, if that counts.
Looking for Paradise mixes Alejandro Sanz's Spanish with Alicia Keys' English.
There are dozens of bands who do this in one or more songs... Here are the ones that I know and that we already have in our database:
Nanowar of Steel, Chthonic, T.A.T.U., Wolfchant, Disaster KFW, Haggard, Estatic Fear, Moonspell, Powerwolf, Rammstein...
Mira Awad and Noa Nini singing There Must Be Another Way in English, Hebrew, and Arabic at the 2009 ESC.
E Nomine and Eliezer Lara Montoya - Der Herr ist mein Hirte. Sung in English, German, and Latin.
The National Anthem of New Zealand is sung in Maori and English
Wait, there are actually Тату songs that use two languages? I only listen to their Russian songs and all the lyrics are in Russian, so now I'm curious.
The most famous songs by T.A.T.U. are in English. When this band was popular here, I only knew "All the Things She Said" and "All About Us". These are completely english.
I only know a handful of their songs at all but one of them, Show Me Love, at least has an Russian intro while the rest is English. Not quite what you'd call a bilingual song, though, but I've added it to the list here since even this spoken intro is part of the lyrics and so it's one of the songs that should be marked as bilingual in our database here.
Yeah, I'm aware of their English songs and how those in particular hit it big, I just prefer their Russian songs more. The English songs were popular where you are? Are you in Germany? Because that's interesting to me!
This brings a question to mind for me, though... what's the cutoff for a "bilingual" song? Because, as I'm sure you're aware, there are tons of Japanese songs that use English words and phrases scattered throughout the lyrics. Should those be considered bilingual even when it just seems to be random foreign words thrown in? Or should it depend on how much of a foreign language is included?
Well, if it's just a few words scattered over the whole lyrics then I wouldn't call that bilingual. But I know what you mean, I've also seen a couple of japanese songs that use single english expressions in every other sentence but have no complete english sentence with more than 2 words. I guess then it's a case per case decision.
I would go for: Can someone who wants to translate the lyrics into another language do that when he only knows the main language of the song, using a simple dictionary for the 3 expressions he didn't know? Or are the parts written in the second language too large?
And, yes, I live in germany. Here (and I think that's like it's everywhere), when a band is popular there is only one or maybe two songs of them that are always played on the radio and tv, and other songs by them are almost unknown.
Well, that's at least my experience, I don't care that much for mainstream/pop music.
Is there a way for normal users to label songs they uploaded as bilingual?
No, it's completely deactivated. Even if there is a song with two or more languages chosen and I edit it, afterwards only one language will be chosen.
The admins say it's not compatible with the system of the website.
Ok... I understand. A pity it doesn't work anymore.
I know they're loaded with a lot of work, but at some point admins will have to deal with this.
I found another bilingual song:
Mylène Farmer - Slipping Away (Crier la Vie). English and French. Apparently the uploader couldn't decide and uploaded it to Transliteration.

there is one that's croatian and polish ^_^
Goran Karan i Jacek Silski - Pokochaj mnie
