Give someone a buzz/a jingle/a ring (English) — You are going to, or you are calling someone on the telephone. Older phones used to emit a buzzing sound (operator would connect you).
The switchboard would buzz when a call needed to be connected.
Today it may also have a drug induced connotation. (second-hand smoke). Jingles and rings are bell sounds.
