It would be helpful if you could specify the corrected errors. I've found no corrections except one additional line break and deletion of brackets in one place. Please let me know if you think anything else needs correction.
Plus, logically, if you think that there should be a line break before "Now I must wave goodbye...", there should be one also before "And they say: wave goodbye...", otherwise I see no sense in changing one and leaving the other as is. I'll make the second line break as well.
Sorry but I have corrected so many lyrics that I am not able to remember any single correction.
If you find something I did wrong feel free to tell me - or even better correct it without telling me.
Both we are not the owners of these lyrics.
Hi Geli, as I mentioned above: I added one more line break to make the text look aligned logically. I remember that at the moment of publishing the song I also detected a lot of errors in the original lyrics that I tried to correct after listening to the song several times. I hope I corrected if not all, then at least most of them.
I think there weren't many errors left. I did not mean to criticize you at all.
:)
;)
I think they sing "I don't wanna" instead of "I don't want to". Agree?
Yes, I think so, although Morten's pronunciation is not very clear sometimes. On the other hand, he definitely does not sing "I never want to see you hurt". He sings (surprise, surprise! :D ) "I don't wanna see you hurt" and this is what I translated into Polish. I don't wanna ;) meddle with your corrections, so I'm just humbly asking you to make this one. Happy spring to you, Geli!
Morten also sings "brings back words".
Im not sure about "my blood's sweet with pain"...
Some sources say "sweet for pain". What do you think?
Geli, if you insist on changing the lyrics according to what you find on the Internet (where one lyrics page copies errors from another one), then I can only sigh. Yes, I remember "blood sweet with pain", but I think it's rather "...filled with pain" and that's what I posted and that's what I translated. Of course I might be wrong as well, but then it doesn't make much sense to ask me for an opinion. Why? I repeat what I had written: when I was posting the song, I tried to double-check the lyrics and correct what I thought was wrong. If you want to "correct back" everything to the "Internet version", just go ahead. If you ask what I think... I think the correct was what I posted, but I admit I'm not always sure of the correctness of what I hear. I'm not a native speaker - that's one thing; another thing is the pronunciation of Morten Harket, which at times is a bit inarticulate.
He definitely doesn't sing "filled with pain". Listen again.
You may write what you like but I am not convinced.
And I don't copy from the Internet without listenting - I just compare and check out.
But anyway.
* so I ask anybody else: any suggestions? Booklets or something?
May I ask why you don't take the lyrics version of the booklet?
For example: "my blood's sweet for pain"?
Ladies, I hear
1.You know
I don't wanna cry again,
Don't wanna cry again,
I don't wanna say goodbye,
Don't tell 'em I'll cry again
Oh, how
Can you say ....
I'll lean to their good-byes
Outcome depends on the look in their eyes
My blood, swift for pain, wind and the rain,
Brings back words of a song
It's so pathetic when people void of hearing post some lyrics and they get a go in the net. I hope I've helped you to solve the puzzles. Good day, ladies! :)
I just wonder if there isn't one "official" version (I'm not sure a booklet can be considered as such) of the song that would save us all this discussion. On the other hand, I don't think that hearing different thing means that any of us (or anyone at all) is void of hearing ;) Well, I give it up. Plus, as we are not in agreement as to the correct version of the original lyrics, I prefer to delete my translation so that I would not mislead anyone with incorrect interpretation of this text. Cheers!
"I just wonder if there isn't one "official" version (I'm not sure a booklet can be considered as such"
Sciera is sure about booklet versions to be the official versions.
I didn't mean you, you've done a great job. I mean that people paste and copy the first transcription they find. And then they all point at it and say ; It was posted though it's just a transcription. The lyrics very often are under copyright. We'll see them in fifty years :D
No offence taken, Nadia. In fact, it was me who posted this song on LT in first place and I heard what I heard ;) I tried to make corrections in the lyrics found on the Internet (I don't remember which website I took them from) but then maybe in some places I got it wrong, I don't know... Anyway, I don't like to take responsibility for a potentially bad translation where I cannot be sure of the correctness of the original lyrics, so I've decided to delete my translation (surely nobody will "cry in the rain" about it). Of course, I don't feel discouraged and I will keep on translating... :)
Azalia, I don't agree with you. At least now everything fits logically and grammatically. I'll edit the original lyrics, the transcription is yours anyway and you can enter a few minor changes. You shouldn't deprive readers of a possibility to know what the song is about, If there are complaints point at me and say: It wasn't me. Don't worry, together we'll stand, divided we'll fall *devil_smile*
Hi Nadia! You definitely have no reason to feel bad, so please don't! I wish everyone involved in this conversation (you, Geli, Sciera, Maluca, myself... anyone else?) a happy, relaxed weekend. I deleted my translation because I wasn't sure anymore it was good enough, but I still have it in my files so when the final version of the original lyrics is here to stay ;) I might repost my translation with all the needed modifications. It would not be the first time that I would repost the previously deleted translation. It happened before... once or twice. Don't worry, everything is fine. Take care :)
I submitted the lyrics of the vinyl but the song sung in the video is a bit different. Maybe another version? The part with
" You see things in the dephts of my eyes
that my love's run dry"
is missing in the video but I kind of remember it (can't listen to my disc right now)...
This version is the same as the CD booklet's.
