Hymne
I mai, i mai, da hører du gjøken gale.
Gled deg fagre jomfru og dans til sola daler.
Nå vekkes alt (er) liv på ny
Gled deg ved hvert morgengry
Syng, jomfru, syng.
Se enga kledd i sommerdrakt.
Kron ditt hår med blomsterprakt og
syng, jomfru, syng.
I mai, i mai, da hører du gjøken gale.

Translation
Hymn
In May, in May, when you hear the cuckoo's call.1
Rejoice, fair maiden, and dance to the sunrise.2
Now all comes to life again3
Praise each dawn.4
Sing, maiden, sing.
See the meadow dressed in summer plumage5
Crown yourself with a floral wreath, and6
sing, maiden, sing.
In May, in May, when you hear the cuckoo's call.
Rejoice, fair maiden, and dance to the sunrise.
Now all comes to life again
Praise each dawn.
Dance, maiden, dance.
The night is long in the forest, at the meadow.
Who needs houses and beds?
Dance, maiden, dance.
- 1. it could be that in the video it is sung as "den gjøken gale" which would mean: "when the cuckoo's call is heard". It's not really a "call", it's actually the sound made by the cuckoo bird, which is, same as its name - "cuckoo".
- 2. dawn
- 3. lit: Now all awaken to life anew
- 4. "gled deg" is more literally to "enjoy"
- 5. costume, dress
- 6. lit: crown your hair with a profusion of flowers

A German medieval piece, with lyrics by Morten Bing.
It might be related to May Day somehow.
