Who should I blame?

Croatian → English translation for the song "Ko je kriv" by Severina lyrics.

Croatian

Ko je kriv

Kad prebacim kaput preko ramena
istrcim na ulicu
a snijeg do koljena
krenem polako do prve kavane
i pijem s neznancem
sve dok ne svane
ko je kriv, ko je kriv

I dok trcim
s jednog prozora na drugi
kako minuti mogu biti dugi
bas svaki sum
ko tvoj korak zvuci
postajem sve manja
u toj praznoj kuci
ko je kriv, ko je kriv

Ref. 2x
Zar je vazno ko je kriv
dok me pitas gdje si
zar je vazno ko je kriv
kad se vec sve to desi

Kad zapalim dvije cigare k'o jednu
a nepoznate cure pitaju da sjednu
a ja trazim tvoju ruku
u dzepu mog kaputa
i tramvaj se vuce za mnom
k'o da luta
ko je kriv, ko je kriv

Kad pozvonim u zoru
s vrucim kruhom ispod ruke
i poljubim te socno
onako s puno buke
i zagrlim te cvrsto
osjetim u dusi
a vruci kruh na stolu
i dalje se pusi
ko je kriv, ko je kriv

Ref. 2x

Zar je vazno ko je kriv
kad se vec sve to desi

Ko je kriv
(2x)

English

Who should I blame?

When I throw my coat, over the shoulder
And I run out on the street
And snow up to knee
I stroll slowly, to first pub,
And drink with stranger
Until the break of dawn
Who should I blame? Who should I blame?

While I run
From one window to another one
Oh how minutes can be long
Every noise
Like your step sounds
I'm becoming smaller
In this empty house
Who should I blame? Who should I blame?

(Chorus 2x)
Does it mater who's guilty
While you ask me: "Where are you?"
Does it mater who's guilty
When it already happened

When I light 2 cigars like one
And unknown girls ask to sit down
And I'm looking for your hand
In pocket of my coat
And tram is dragging itself
After me like its lost
Who should I blame? Who should I blame?

When I know at dawn
With warm bread under my arm
And kiss you passionately
With a lot of noise
And I hug you firmly
I feel it in my soul
And warm bread on table
Still spreads it's warm scent
Who should I blame? Who should I blame?

(Chorus 2x)
Does it mater who's guilty
While you ask me: "Where are you?"
Does it mater who's guilty
When it already happened

Does it mater who's guilty
When it already happened

Who should I blame? (2x)

Author's comment: I have attempted to translate it literally, to retain original meaning. Therefore, it may sound crude, but in original, virtually every line rhymes. Socno is verb used to describe when some drink or fruit with lot of water content is really tasty and "rich" tasting. I am unsure how to translate that directly, but in this context, "passionately" may be sufficient. Name may also be :"Who's to blame?", as a shorter alternative or, "Who's guilty?" although "guilty" just doesn't feel right in this context, as in song "kriv" is used in inconclusive meaning of blaming somebody, instead of conclusive meaning of somebody being guilty.
