The Adversary (L'adversaire)

English translation

The Adversary

You always hit the hollow of my wound
If I have bruises then it reassures you
It reassures you
You always hit the middle of the sore
If I hurt, you're happy
You're happy

You take the time
to go to pains until pain is all that's left.(1)

What use is it
An adversary
One gains nothing
One gains nothing
It's good for wars
The games where one loses
It's no use
It's no use
To be more of an adversary
Than a human being

You always hit me when I lift my head
If I extend my hand, you reject it
You reject it
You always hit me when I feel most strong
If I hit back, you hit me again
You hit me again

I'll take the pain you cause me
as long as it takes to teach me to see you(2)
To see you

What use is it
An adversary
One gains nothing
One gains nothing
It's good for wars
The games where one loses
It's no use
It's no use
To be more of an adversary
Than a human being

You always hit the least weakness
If you don't change anything, I'll leave you

I don't gain anything
I'll leave you
I don't gain anything

What use is it
An adversary
One gains nothing
One gains nothing
It's good for wars
The games where one loses
It's no use
It's no use
To be more of an adversary
Than a human being

1. Tu prends la peine, le temps qu'elle devienne le mot de la fin
I posted on a forum since I wasn't sure of this phrase, and as someone explained "It's a little play on words. Prendre la peine de faire qqc = take the time to do something, take the pains to do something (but not as strong as it is in English). Est-ce que ça vaut la peine?, etc. Here the location is twisted to refer to literal pain. Pain has the last word, the definitive word in their relationship." (their translation was: You take the time to go to pains until pain is all that's left.) Which makes sense much better than what I was thinking, so.

2. Je prends ta peine, le temps qu'elle m'apprenne à te voir enfin
Once more, posted about it on a forum and someone gave me that translation. Any suggestions would be great~
