For a lifetime (Per una vita)

English translation

For a lifetime

What was it, did you hear it or not?
But maybe it's only in my head.
Like a rustling, I'll be wrong
It seemed to me (that I've seen) a shadow on the window
On the window

For some time, my right-hand hasn't known
What the left one is doing
The are kids celebrating in the big zoo
Italy hasn't still woken1

All the papers are already talking about it
(I'm hearing them)
Yesterday they executed Lazarus
(I'm abstaining)
To make virtue a necessity
(I give up)
I should sleep
And don't wake up anymore

For a lifetime and a hundred more
But, thinking of it,
I hold my shotgun and stay downwind
I turn on the TV
The same faces, the same poor accent
I curse you and then fall asleep

But from the screen, sir Chapeau
Calls me and wakes me
The artist chef will keep his show
After diet, comes sunshine 2

The experts shall sign
(I'm hearing them)
Only the strongest survive
(But barely)
We'll have a drinking contest
(I give up)
Our hearts up high, and then throwing up

For a lifetime and a hundred more
But, thinking of it,
I hold my shotgun and stay downwind
I turn on the TV
The same faces, the same poor accent
I curse you and then fall asleep
I curse you and then fall asleep

And don't wake up anymore
For a lifetime and a hundred more
But, thinking of it,
I hold my shotgun and stay downwind
I turn on the TV
The same faces, the same poor accent
I curse you and then fall asleep

Hey there, my English is not perfect but I think that a better translation of the first verse could be something like this:
"What was it, do you hear it or not
But maybe it's only in my head.
Like a rustling, I'll be wrong
It seemed to me (that I've seen) a shadow on the window
On the window"

And I think it's better "newspapers" than "papers".
You forgot a "(I give up)" after "We'll have a drinking contest". Regular smile

But I'm not a translator or a super fluent English speaker... so maybe you need other people's opinions and tips.
