Thanks Details:
Technicall you're right, the text as presented here is much closer to the first popular version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUsePoATbrU by Lale Andersen.
Not exactly the same as it, though. It seems like the text above it the original one as written by Hans Leip, but I can't tell for sure.
Nadia, to be honest I don't think that it is right to take the video as an example for the text.
The main reason for that is the video can contain not the official version, caver, some live version, where the words differs from the original version of lyrics. Also many people can just misheard the lyrics from video.
I'd prefer to take the text from the official site of the singer (or poet, the author of the lyrics). If there's no such a site, then text from fan-club's site. And only in the case of absence of all the overmentioned we should listen to the singing and transcribe the song aurally.
But the point where I agree with you is that we MUST have some rules about the transcribing.
IMHO
It may be as you suggest but we must know the rules of the game that's what I'm talking about. Some users submit transcribed^^ texts with no link and the video doesn't match. What did they transcribe from then? I'm not talking about the moral aspect but a technical one. I'm rather worried about the readers. When the lyrics don't match and there's no link who will answer their questions?
If I were them I'd rather say "No, this source isn't reliable" Still
I think the best would be to put Hans Leip into the artist field and add a new song entry for the version by Marleen Dietrich. The text on an entry should reflect both what is sung in a certain version of the song and what that artist in question published as the official text - but the text here is not that of Marlene Dietrich.
Does anyone here have a trustworthy source to check whether this actually is the text by Hans Leip? I mean, it says so here for example: https://books.google.de/books?id=BU4qAQAAQBAJ&pg=PA201&lpg=PA201&dq=%22+...
but who knows.
Well, actually we are talking about the problem in a whole. Not only about this song. Perhaps it is a subject for separate forum's topic.
