Me lo dijo Adela

Aunque me muera de dolor
Porque dicen que anoche lo vieron
Con un tremendo vacilón

Cuando bailo el chachachá ...

Adela Told Me

Adela told me so
Adela told me so
Adela told me so
Adela told me so

Doctor, you are not taking my molar* out tomorrow
Even if I die from the pain
Because they say that they saw you late last night
On a tremendously high high**

When I dance the cha-cha-cha...

Author's comments:

In the colorful Caribbean Spanish of the time *"muela" molar is slang for "sweet talk", and in this context**"Con un tremendo vacilón" means "really high or drunk" presumably from partying the night before, & roster31 informed me that the cha-cha-cha rythem itself is called "vacilón".

Wink Thanks cm.1, finally slang I can translate!

cm.1     January 7th, 2014

Well let's just say I know a really good translation when I see it. Smile

I am glad that you enjoy the cha-cha-cha I have forwarded.
The rhythm is important here, the lyrics are not.

Jamilet Bryant     January 8th, 2014

Hi Vale, I re-worded every line so that the English has the same number of syllables as the Spanish, while keeping the same meaning. I hope you like it better now, since it was your request Wink

Valeriu Raut     January 9th, 2014

Hello Jamilet,
I haven't state any request until now:
1) I wish the listeners or readers like the tunes I choose
2) When we will meet, promise me a cha-cha dance, cheek to cheek

Jamilet Bryant     January 10th, 2014

Como la nieta de Cubanos, me gusta el ritmo de cha-cha-chá, y he disfrutado esta traducción Smile Pero, yo prefiero la versión de la Orchesta Aragon Wink

roster 31     January 8th, 2014

Y sabras que al ritmo del cha cha cha también se le llama "vacilón".
Puedes añadir lo siguiente (si quieres):

¿Quién te lo dijo nene?

Me lo dijo Adela,
me lo dijo Adela,
me lo dijo Adela,
me lo dijo Adela.

Doctor...

Si yo agarro a Adela,
si yo agarro a Adela,
si yo agarro a Adela,
por chismosa
la voy a matar.

Jamilet Bryant     January 8th, 2014

Smile Thanks Rosa, when Vale adds the additional lyrics and I'm in the mood to count syllables, I'll translate the rest. Wink

Valeriu Raut     January 10th, 2014

Hello Jamilet, I won't add here lyrics that the singer doesn't pronounce.
But I consider inserting the same song with the Aragon Orchestra.

roster 31     January 8th, 2014

If he does...!

Jamilet Bryant     January 10th, 2014

Who told you that little one?

Adela told me so
Adela told me so
Adela told me so
Adela told me so

Doctor...

If I get my hands on Adela
If I get my hands on Adela
If I get my hands on Adela
for gossiping
I'm gonna kill her! Wink

roster 31     January 9th, 2014

Good!

roster 31     January 10th, 2014

Also Bobby Capó sings it, but he doesn't say the part "si yo agarro a Adela..."; he only says "por chismosa la voy a matar".
"El Consorcio" incluye esas líneas.
