Sailm CXVII agus CL
[Salm 117]
O thugaibh moladh mór do Dhia, fach fine t'ann fa leth ;
Seadh molaibh Dia gu fonnnhor àrd, gach uile shluagh air bith.
Oir 's mór a chaoimhneas tròcaireach, a dheònaich e dhuinn féin ;
Tha firinn Dé sior-mhaireannach,
Molaibh Iehobhah treun.
[Salm 150]
Molaibhse Dia. 'N a theampull naomh molaibhse Dia gu mór ;
'An speur an àrd a chumhachd fòs molaibh e mar is còir.
Air son a ghnìomhara ro-threun molaibhse Dia 's gach àit ;
A réir a mhórachd molaibh e, 's a glòir a ta ro-àrd.
Le guth na trompaid mar an ceudn' molaibhse Dia gu binn :
Air clarsaich seinnibh moladh dha, is air an t-saltair ghrinn.
Molaibh Iehobhah treun. Molaibh Iehobhah treun.
Molaibh Iehobhah treun. Molaibh Iehobhah treun.
Le tiompan thugaibh moladh dha, 's an dannsadh mar an ceudn' ;
Le organ togaibh suas a chliù 's le inneal-ciùil nan teud.
Air ciombalaibh ta labhar binn molaibhse Dia gun tàmh :
Molaibhse Dia air ciombalan, nì toirm is fuaim ro-àrd.
Gach uile dhùil sam bith ta beò, 'g am bheil an deò 'n an cré,
Àrd-mholadh iadsan Dia gu mór. Molaibh Iehobhah treun.
Molaibh Iehobhah treun.
Translation
Psalms 117 and 150
[Psalm 117]
O Give great praise to God, every existing tribe individually;
Yes, praise God tunefully loud each and every people in existence.
For great is his merciful kindness, which he willed for ouselves;
God's truth is everlasting.
Praise mighty Jehovah.
[Psalm 150]
PRAISE1 God. In his holy church praise him greatly;
In the high firmament of his power praise him as is right and proper.
For his very mighty acts PRAISE God in every place;
As fits his greatness, and his glory which is most high.
With the trumpet's voice likewise PRAISE him sweetly:
On harps play praise for him, and on the elegant psaltery2.
Praise mighty Jehovah. Praise Mighty Jehovah.
Praise mighty Jehovah. Praise Mighty Jehovah.
With a timbrel3 give praise for him, and likewise in dancing;
With an organ raise high his glory and with a stringed instrument.
On cymbals with their sweet loud voice PRAISE God incessantly:
PRAISE God on cymbals which make a very loud din and noise.
All extant living creatures with a spark of life in their bodies,
Let them highly praise God greatly. Praise mighty Jehovah.
Praise mighty Jehovah.
- 1. the "se" addeded onto the end of "molaibh" indicates emphasis; I don't know how to do that in writing in English except perhaps by using capitals
- 2. an instrument resembling a dulcimer
- 3. or a tympan; anyway, some sort of small drum (perhaps a tanbourine?) that can be carried in one hand - tōph in the original Hebrew of this psalm

The 4 occurrences of "Molaibh Iehobhah treun" (Praise mighty Jehova) in the middle of Psalm 150 are not in any Bible (Gaelic or not) that I've seen; nor is the final occurrence. The sentence occurs exactly once in each of the two psalms, not once in the short psalm and 6 time in the long one. The extra 5 occurrences were presumably added to make an improved singing version.
It's amusing to see both ciombalaibh and ciombalan used as the dative plural of ciombal in a single sentence; this is presumably a result of the gradual dropping of the old dative plural form in favour of using the nominative plural in its place, but it's surprising to see the two forms so close together. The bible on my bookshelf has "ciombalaibh" for both and it's a fairly recent (1939) edition.
