Nousevan Auringon Talo

On paikka kuulu kurjuuden,
talo nousevan auringon
On turmellut mun ëlamäin,
talo nousevan auringon

Mun äiti neuloi vaatteeni,
hän syntiin langennut ei
Mun faija - hän sai tuomion
ja tiensä tyrmään vei

Kai ainut minkä tarvitsi,
oli korttipakka vaan
Sai tyydytyksen parhaimman
vain juopotellessaan

Oi äiti, kerro lapselles
että tieni väärä on,
kun turhaan heitin nuoruutein
taloon nousevan auringon

Olen monta kertaa paennut
ja luullut päässeeni pois
Nyt matkaan sinne takaisin,
eikä kukaan auttaa vois?

Niin, on paikka kuulu kurjuuden,
talo nousevan auringon
On turmellut mun elämäin,
talo nousevan auringon

Translation

The House of the Rising Sun

It is a place of misery,
the house of the rising sun.
It has marred my life,
the house of the rising sun.

My mother knitted my clothes,
she has not fallen into sins.
My dad - he got a sentence
and his future is in jail.1

What he probably needed
was just a deck of cards.
He got the best satisfaction
only from his drinking.

Hey mother, tell your child
that my way of life is wrong,2
because I wasted my youth3
in the house of the rising sun.4

Many times I have fled
and thought of being away.
Now I travel back thither,
would nobody help me?

It is a place of misery,
the house of the rising sun.
It has marred my life,
the house of the rising sun.

its like listening to country music in finnish

"He got the best satisfaction from only his drinking." "he was only satisfied by drinking" if you must keep "only" you have to place it before "from"
"he got the best satisfaction only from drinking"

Thank you very much, it has been corrected now!

I choose to go with the second solution, as it is closest to the original Finnish lyrics.

reminds me of the song papa was a rolling stone "Folks say Papa would beg; borrow or steal to pay his bills.
Hey, Mama, folks say Papa was never much on thinkin';
Spend most of his time chasin' women and drinkin'!
Mama, I'm depending on you to tell me the truth."
