Play (Oyna)

Play

Versions: #1#2

I hope nothing is wrong, today I feel like playing
I got bored, hey(*1), what is this, I feel like playing
Is an excuse required no matter what?
Whatever anyone says, you brandish(*2)

Is your heart on fire? Come on, play
Did it get pulled out? Come on, play
Did we punish every mirror?(*3)
Has your money been consumed? Come on, play
Did your ability of feeling pleasure escape (from you)? Come on, play
To your stubbornness, to your stubbornness, come on, play

We became blotto(*4), we became crazy, years came and passed
Think about it, think about it, we are both in the same condition, look at what has changed
Is an excuse required no matter what?
Whatever anyone says, you brandish(*2)

Is your heart on fire? Come on, play
Did it get pulled out? Come on, play
Did we punish every mirror?(*3)
Has your money been consumed? Come on, play
Did your ability of feeling pleasure escape (from you)? Come on, play
To your stubbornness, to your stubbornness, come on, play

Is there valuable money from one arrival of yours(*5)?
Is there a wound that can not be healed in this world, is there a wound that can not be healed?

Is your heart on fire? Come on, play
Did it get pulled out? Come on, play
Did we punish every mirror?(*3)
Has your money been consumed? Come on, play
Did your ability of feeling pleasure escape (from you)? Come on, play
To your stubbornness, to your stubbornness, come on, play

Is your heart on fire? Come on, play
Did it get pulled out? Come on, play
Did we punish every mirror?(*3)
Has your money been consumed? Come on, play
Did your ability of feeling pleasure escape (from you)? Come on, play
To your stubbornness, to your stubbornness, come on, play

Author's comments:

(*1) The word "be" from the original lyrics is translated as "hey". It doesn't actually mean "hey", it is just used to emphasize when we are speaking to someone.
(*2) "Salla" means "brandish" in the imperative. I think it is metaphorically used to express the order "start".
(*3) This actually doesn't make sense, although the translation must be correct. I guess it is poetic license.
(*4) "Blotto" means really drunk and slang.
(*5) This might mean either "Will I get money (will you have to pay) if you come?" or "Will you take money if you come?". It is not clear.

I might have made a few mistakes, the song was quite difficult Smile
I suggest you check out the 2nd version, I would change mine but I don't want to steal the other person's work, so I say this because his/her translation is the correct one Smile

5. There is an error in the lyrics.
Bir gülüşünden kıymetli para mı var
That is the true line. (On Sertab Erener's facebook page, the video the artist posted has the lyrics on it.)
