Spanish

Por Arriba, Por Abajo

Santa Cecilia, yo quiero cantar
¡Ay! San Melitón enséñame el son
Santa Lucia, la quiero mirar
Yo te lo pido, San Corazón

Santa Paciencia, Santa Piedad
Santa rumbita, la quiero gozar
Santa tristeza
Sanseacabó
Solo con ella bailo yo

Por arriba, por abajo
Calientitos, bien pegados
Por arriba, por abajo
Angelitos sin pecado

Santa Virginia, no sé si atacar
San Valentín, la deseo un montón
Santa Inocencia, la quiero tocar
¡Ay! no me dejes, San corazón

Santa mentira, Santa verdad
Santo bolero, la quiero abrazar
Santa alegría
Sanseacabó
Solo con ella bailo yo

From up above, from down below

Saint Cecilia, I want to sing
Ah! Saint Melito teach me the tune
Saint Lucia, I want to look at her
I beg you, blessed heart

Blessed patience, Blessed mercy
Blessed rumbita, I want to enjoy her
Blessed sadness
This ends now
I will dance only if it's with her

From up above, from down below
We will be warm and really close
From up above, from down below
Little angels without sin

Saint Virginia, I don't know if I should make my move
Saint Valentine, I want her a lot
Blessed innocence, I want to touch her
Ah! Don't abandon me, blessed heart

Blessed lies, blessed truth
Blessed bolero, I want to embrace her
Blessed joy
This ends now
I will dance only if it's with her

Author's comments:

[1] Rumba (rumbita) & bolero are musical rhythms

[2] San and Santa translate as 'Saint' when followed by a name, when followed by a thing the meaning changes to something like 'blessed'
