Eppu Normaali - Puhtoinen lähiöni (English translation)

English translation

My clean suburb

Versions: #1#2
I bath in joy, I live in *Butterkilo*
In a small box, aparentment witch
I can sleep and bathe, I'm very proud of it
Both square meters are clean
No pesticides like it here
Parquet is shining, food is in supermarket

You critizise suburps
(You) say that you dont know (your) ne-ne-ne-neighbours
Alltought trought day and night
(I) hear their troubles trought the wall
Quite **silly/stupid** handymans
Brave wifes washing mens underwear

(You) look out of window
This place is cool?
I dont know better
Atleast according to mayor
This is close to heaven

You say: It's a long way to the city
Not even br-br-br-brats like it here
You have deep consern of us
But supurb has one good side

In here you start to learn
To love the box you'll be in the future

Earthly posessions arent putting weight on (your) mind
If theres no shortage of it
If you have the cash for it
But house with state-subsidized loan
Isnt allways that spacious

Earthly posessions arent putting weight on (your) mind
If theres no shortage of it
If you have the cash for it
But house with state-subsidized loan
Isnt allways that spacious

*"Voikilo" is used in this song like it was a place/suburb name but there is no such place/suburb. It may be that Martti Syrjä just invented it to make it rhyme or mayby he intented the word to be changed to actual name of the supurb on live gigs. I dont know. It would rhyme better with Kallio, Kalliossa, witch is real place but Syrjä is from another part of finland. But it does mean "Kilo of butter".

**English doesnt have equavalent for the word "pösilö" but it means stupid or not that bright.
