Well I'm seeing all this from afar, but I think the girls spent a few months in jail already, maybe that should be enough.
I took the time to read what they wrote, and I think it would be too bad to be put off by their offensive style and not to listen to what they try to say (again through very debatable means).
Judging by the impact of their actions, it seems the questions of free speech, women rights or links between church and state might be worth some debate in Russia. But again it's just a stranger's perspective. I suspect the situation in Russia is a bit more complex than what filters through French newsreels. After all, I deem the situation in France a lot more complex than what can be read in our own newspapers already!
