Village, oh my village (Satule, sătucul meu)

English translation

Village, oh my village

Village, oh my village, hey,
I must have done something really wrong to you, hey,
I walked through your streets today,
You didn't remember me,
Village, oh my village, hey.

Since the beginning of the world, hey,
My parents called me, hey,
They're not afraid of fire or death,
They're afraid of loneliness,
Village, oh my village, hey.

How could I live my life well
When I don't have parents by my side?
I would say "mummy" and "daddy"
To the leaves and to the stones
Village, oh my village, hey.

I went to only two villages
And it seemed so far to me,
So, when I go out in the world,
my heart burns inside of me,
Village, oh my village, hey.

Only God knows, hey,
What I'm carrying in my soul, hey,
I'd sell luck and money
For a house with countrymen,
Village, oh my village, hey.

I'd sell luck and money
For a house with countrymen,
Village, oh my village, hey.

Satule, sătucul meu

Satule, sătucul meu, măi,
Greu ți-am putut greși eu, măi,
Am trecut astăzi prin tine,
Nu ți-ai amintit de mine,
Satule, sătucul meu, măi.

Di la capătul lumii, măi,
Chematu-m-o părinții, măi,

I wouldn't say it's "I could hardly disappoint you", but "I must have done something really wrong to you".
Here we have the explanation of leaves and flowers in Romanian songs and people talking to them: "I would say 'mummy' and 'daddy'
To the leaves and to the stones". They do it when they feel lonely, when the dear ones are not around.

So, it's corrected...and I suppose I made the same mistake in French too...I'll correct it Smile
