Mariza - Saudade solta (English translation)

English translation

Released longing (I miss you)

I caught your yearnings
Went to plant them in my garden
Because I know that you still continue (to be)
Here right next to me
And singing the longing, I know
Something is going to be born here
If sadness I sowed
Joy will I reap

Pebbles(little gems) that I shall take away
And all the weeds around
And what may come will remember
That life holds the released yearnings
And the shadows that I will keep away
And all the weeds around
And what may come will remember
That life holds the released yearnings

New days will come
Other happy memories
And the wind that buffets us
Is not going to break our link
And singing I know it remains
I miss you right here
And the hope that gives us life
In me will not have an end
I know you'll wait for me.

Pebbles(little gems) that I shall take away
And all the weeds around
And what may come will remember
That life holds the released yearnings
And the shadows that I will keep away
And all the weeds around
And what may come will remember
That life holds the released yearnings

Pebbles(little gems) that I shall take away
And all the weeds around
And what may come will remember
That life holds the released yearnings
And the shadows that I will keep away
And all the weeds around
And what may come will remember
That life holds the released yearnings

Hi! I'd personally not translate solta as 'released' (I'd use 'free'), but this translation is perfect despite it. Congrats!

You'd may like to check our FAQ to turn those additional information you added between parenthesis into footnotes. http://lyricstranslate.com/en/faq#faq62

Thanks for your comment. Soltar has so many meanings with the sense of loosening or liberating such as loosening the tongue. I wanted to give more the feeling of action in loosening the ties of yearning. Free is less an action and more a fact of state. That is why I chose a word of action. The overall intent of "saudade solta" is I miss you and I know some translators would use this translation instead. I wanted to grab the feeling behind the words as they appear in the lyrics. Like all, I have problems translating "saudade" adequately into English.
