I don't think that this translation should be rated 3 stars just because of this. All that matters is that the lyrics have been translated accurately.

First of all, I am not to rate this translation since I cannot speak Spanish. In any case, my opinion is solely based on what you have stated: "the lines are too long". Since I suppose that if this translation contained any inaccuracies, grammar mistakes or syntax errors you would already have pointed them out, I strongly disagree with that poor rating (3). Let me be clearly understood: translating a song or a poem accurately and also in such a way as to maintain the rhyme and the rhythm is impossible unless you are a professional translator or you have an innate talent for this. This is not very often the case with the people on this website - many of them are not even specialised in literature, but translating lyrics is merely a hobby of theirs. Given this, as I already mentioned before, perfect grammar and conveying the meaning of the song are of utmost importance. If one manages to maintain the versification as well, then great.

Second of all, I am going to answer your question, although I am sure that you already know the ropes. One must rate a translation only if they can speak both of the languages involved. (I did NOT mean to imply that you should not have voted this translation, if this is what you are thinking of. I know very well that you are proficient in both English and Spanish.
