Karl-Erik Taukar - Tähti Täis On Öö (English translation)

English translation

The Night is Full of Stars

I move in the wind of others,
I don't see or hear anything else.
Hopelessly time slips from hand.

There has already been a number of nights [like that]..
I don't know yet what's going to happen
when everything gets suspiciously quiet.

So I meet you again before midnight,
I find you by chance.
Then you grab my hand and tell me:
turn the lights off,
turn the lights off,
turn the lights off,
turn the lights off.

For the night is full of stars,
it pulls you along and might swallow us into itself.1
The night is full of stars,
it carries us along and gives reasons follies.
The night is full of stars.

Oo etc
Oo etc

Thousands of planets are
in a system with us
as far as an eye can see.

On this dream trip
we just spend a moment,
unexpectedly it's morning again.

Is it real or am I dreaming,
it's still too early to wake up
Again you grab my hand and tell me:
turn the lights off,
turn the lights off,
turn the lights off,
turn the lights off.

For the night is full of stars,
it pulls you along and might swallow us into itself.
The night is full of stars,
it carries us along and gives reasons follies.
The night is full of stars.

Oo etc
For the night is full of stars.
Oo etc

The same goes for reusing parts of my translations in your own (parallel) translations. Id est: it is forbidden. (If a translation is IYO slightly wrong, I'd be glad if commented or PMed.)
If you want to translate my translation into a third language or use it as a basis, you are welcome. Especially if you do it on this website. Just be so kind and mention it and me. :) You can also notify me (in addition, it would make me recheck my work and maybe find errors that you wouldn't copy then) but you don't have to.

Most of my translations are works in progress. One never knows when a revelation can strike. One word: recheck.
