Pauline Croze - Tita (English translation)

English translation

Tita

Tita dreams of a torrid love,
Tita speaks of a tightrope world,
Tita's dying in the arid wasteland,
trapped in her fear of heights.

Tita hurries to lose herself
in a sapphire hued drunkenness.
Tita's dragging her parched throat,
glass after glass she'll make it through.

She's been wandering for a few years now,
the echo of her voice gets lost in the night.
She's been wandering for a few years now,
the echo of her voice gets lost in the night.

She let herself be blinded by the evil rooted deep inside.
She does not want to reveal her wounded inner self anymore.
Oh, the wound!

By dint of courting the extreme,
Tita's loosing the very meaning of her life.
By dint of stretching the limits,
Tita's always on the run.

Tita dreams of a torrid love,
Tita speaks of a tightrope world,
Tita's dying in the arid wasteland,
trapped in her fear of heights.

Salut, très bonne traduction, comme toujours. J'ai appris beaucoup de nouveaux mots. Merci.

saphir -> ruby? (sapphire)
arrid -> arid

She's been wandering for a few years now,
the echo of her voice gets lost in the night.

At one point was thinking of translating this charming song. Asked myself the same question about the gem hue. Found out "ruby" is a special name for a red sapphire in case you might be interested. Very good translation

Thanks. She's a really good songwriter. I especially like this song of hers.

About ruby, it is the red kind of an aluminium oxyde crystals family, while sapphire designates all other kinds (the most precious being blue).
There are technically no red sapphires, only red aluminium oxyde crystals called rubies.
Still she might have thought of some hue of sapphire closer to wine (purple or orange).
