Ivan Ortiz Jr.
Prospective Audiologist, ASL/Spanish Teacher, Spanish/English Translator, Linguist
I'm passionate and fascinated about/by languages, specifically those in the Romance/Neo-Latin family. I try to study, learn, and compare a little bit of every language possible, simple vocabulary mostly.
I found out I wasn't accepted into the university, my dream university; it just means I'll apply again. In the meantime, I'll be working in obtaining an associates degree in Spanish, I already have one for ASL. I still have a long way, but in time I'll achieve all my goals.
I plan to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders, or Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences, with a focus in Audiology. Also, major or minor(unsure still) in Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Literatures. Definitely major in Applied Linguistics to then teach language and translate from one language to another
I desire to teach American Sign Language to Hearing people and English to Spanish-speakers. I also desire to become an English/Spanish translator as well.
Much later in the future, I will apply for the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures from Chicago.
