I'm here to try to make acceptable translations, improving my language skills and having fun in the process. There's nothing I like more than discussing translation choices, trying to figure out how to better do justice to the original.
I am no professional of any sort and do not claim to reach the quality of a real translator. I'm just trying to do a decent amateur work.
Therefore, any constructive comment is welcome on any of my translations, be it to point out a single typo, as long as the goal is to come up with a better result in the end.
.
Apart from my native French, English is the only language I consider myself fluent in. I mostly learned it reading books, watching movies and translating as a hobby, but I've been doing this for a couple of decades now, so I think I've got the hang of it eventually.
Russian and German I understand just enough to do some translations into French or English, preferably with a bit of native help.
French allows me to guess a bit of Italian and Spanish, Russian gives me some vague idea of some other Slavic languages.
I know a couple hundred words of Japanese, but I was too lazy to learn how to read it.
As a student, being pestered by maths and physics lead to the painful discovery of the Greek alphabet, one letter at a time.
My job allowed me to become rather fluent in basic suburban French yoofspeak, but unfortunately I consider rap at large far below rubbish, so I only rarely use this amusing skill to drag the said rubbish through the language barrier.
The rest of the languages of the world are a sweet mystery to me.

About me

Кулаками, если стены бить,
То однажды стены разнесёшь.
.
Hit the walls, with your fists if you must,
and one day you'll bring the walls down.
.
Tape sur les murs, à coups de poings s'il le faut,
et un jour les murs s'écrouleront.
