Nando Reis - Você Não Vale Nada (English translation)

English translation

You Aren't Worth A Thing

You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
All that I wanted
Is to know why
All that I wanted
Is to know why

You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
All that I wanted
Is to know why
All that I wanted
Is to know why

You played with me
And messed with my life
And this suffering
Has no explanation
I did and I'm doing everything
Trying to get over you
Seeing my death come closer
I can end up all alone
You're cold blooded and have a vampire mouth
Someday I'll take you off of my heart for once
Then I won't want you anymore
Dear, pay attention at me
Please forgive me
I'm dying

I want to see you suffering
Just so you stop being bad
I'll make you cry
Humiliate yourself and run
After me

I want to see you suffering
Just so you stop being bad
I'll make you cry
Humiliate yourself and run
After me

Don't worth a thing,
But I'm...

You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
All that I wanted
Is to know why
All that I wanted
Is to know why

You, you aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
All that I wanted
Is to know why
All that I wanted
Is to know why

I want to see you suffering
Just so you stop being bad
I'll make you cry
Humiliate yourself and run
After me

I want to see you suffering
Just so you stop being bad
I'll make you cry
Humiliate yourself and run
After me

You're no good
But I'm into...
Hey, I'm into you!
All that I wanted
Is to know why
All that I wanted
Is to know why

You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
You aren't worth a thing
But I'm into you!
All that I wanted
Is to know why
All that I wanted
Is to know why

Author's comments:

Thanks to tsitpirc and Ivan U7n for useful comments. I didn't know English didn't use 'worth' as a verb as usually as I thought.

Your rendition is fascinating, the only problem is that "worth" was only... worth using as a verb until perhaps Shakespeare's time (if my information is correct). Nowadays we employ it as a preposition (American English) or adjective (British English) or noun (both). Just wondering: you didn't mean to sound like some 12th century poet, did you? The rest of your version sounds quite contemporary. Muito obrigado pelo seu trabalho!

Hi! Thanks for the comment Regular smile

Honestly, I didn't know 'worth' should not be used as a verb - it was the only word that came to my mind. Is there any synonyms for it? I really don't remember any.

De nada, I'm glad you liked my translation!

Just replace "don't" with "aren't" and voile, it is good. Teeth smile
