Assala Nasri - Ya A'alem (يا عالم) (English translation)

Arabic

Ya A'alem (يا عالم)

English translation

Only God knows

Only God knows1 if I'm going to see him, even accidentally, once again
I can neither sleep, nor take him out of my mind2
Yes, probabilities that we return back are decreasing indeed
As he is too far to be met3

The idea of4 going on without him.....
.. doesn't even cross my mind. as if life .....
... stopped after him, as if it refuses to let me live
So, I stand still waiting for him.
From time to time I discover that,
past, somehow, refuses to turn into memories
I'm becoming more sure that without him5 I've already lost...
... my share in enjoying6 life.

Why didn't he leave me a chance to ask about him..
..telling me not to think about him?
As if our story was just a couple of days
not years that are wasted!
