Javiera Carrera, or by her full name, Francisca Xaviera Eudoxia Rudecinda Carmen de los Dolores de la Carrera y Verdugo (1781-1862), was an important figure and leader in the Chilean War of Independence alongside her brothers José Miguel, Juan José and Luís. She is said to have been the first person to sew the first Chilean national flag, and she is today known as the Mother of Chile.
