Die Prinzen - Du musst ein Schwein sein (traducción al Inglés)

traducción al Inglés

You have to be a bastard

Versiones: #1#2
I've always been very friendly, nice and kind,
Never got any woman into bed,
But then doing macho, cool and arrogant -
Suddenly they came running!

And again I see how things work in life:
He who is tough, loud and gets drunk,
Does better with the ladies.
Who would want a nice man?

You draw conclusions from it
And you switch to bad.
The world is a courtroom,
And the bad guys win their case.

Chorus:
You have to be a bastard in this world,
To be a bastard!
You have to be mean in this world,
To be mean!
Because if you want to go honestly through life,
Honestly,
You'll get a kick in the arse as a thankyou -
Dangerous!

Because I know I can get away with it
I everywhere push in the front.
And if someone is gentle and weak -
Listen how I laugh about!

I totally pull against
My friendly colleagues.
Though nobody likes me
I'll soon have a seat in the Bundestag.

You have to be a bastard in this world,
To be a bastard!
You have to be mean in this world,
To be mean!
Because if you want to go honestly through life,
Honestly,
You'll get a kick in the arse as a thankyou -
Dangerous!
Dangerous!

You have to be a bastard in this world,
To be a bastard!
You have to be mean in this world,
To be mean!
Because if you want to go honestly through life,
Honestly,
You'll get a kick in the arse as a thankyou -
Dangerous!

You have to be mean in this world,
You have to be a bastard!

"Because I know I can afford it" => "Because I know I can get away with it"

I think "You have to be a bastard" is what the song is saying. A pig is more for expressions like "you eat like a pig!".
