I don't know what type of music you like but you can try Joyce Jonathan's Pas besoin de toi, it has simple lyrics.

try the classic ballads, such as 'Stewball' or 'Le petit âne gris" by Hugues Aufray. they are quite simple stories beautifully said, in a proper yet uncomplicated language and they are really heartfelt. 'Stewball' was covered by Joan Baez if you need some translation :)
