Tu pan Prus nigdy dla nas nie umarł
I ciągle żyje, żyje wśród nas -
Chodzi po mieście, patrzy i duma
Po tym najbliższym ze wszystkich miast!
Kochany panie Bolesławie,
Tu postawili Panu pomnik -
I znów jak kiedyś, Pan w Warszawie,
Nie zapomnieli Cię potomni!
Że Pan w tużurku, że na podwórku,
Nie ma tu Pańskich dziś katarynek,
Zamilkł warszawskich dorożek turkot -
Nieprawda, zaraz wjadą na rynek!
Kto tak, jak Pan, znał te ulice -
Królewski Trakt, zamkowy zegar,
Ciche zaułki pod księżycem,
Gdzie grajek grał, poeta śpiewał...
Chociaż to miasto inne i nowe,
Ale to samo bije w nim serce,
Te same znowu mury zamkowe,
Ten sam i uśmiech, i łza w piosence...
I znów Pan widzi Ogród Saski,
A może, nawet chodzi po nim?
Bo taki zwyczaj to warszawski,
Że u nas żyje nawet pomnik!

quietened down the jolting noise of the horse-drawn Warsaw cabs-
Not true, they are just about to drive on the market square!
Who better than you knew these streets-
The Royal Road, the castle clock,
quiet alleys under the moon
where street musician played, a poet sang...
Although this town is different, new,
but the same heart beats in it,
the same still castle walls
the same both a smile and a taer in the song...
And again you see the Saxon Garden
and maybe even walk through it?
Because it is a Warsow custom
that here even a monument is alive!
